The 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage variant will be sold for Rs 39,999. The price of 8 GB RAM 256 GB storage variant is not known.
In comparison, OnePlus 5T price in India starts at Rs 32,999. It has a variant with 6 GB RAM and 64 GB inbuilt storage. The price of 8 GB RAM and 128 GB inbuilt storage variant is Rs 37,999.
OnePlus 6 vs OnePlus 5T: Design differences
The biggest difference between OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 5T is the design. The company says that despite the larger screen of OnePlus 6, its form factor is the same as OnePlus 5T. However, there are some differences in dimensions and weight. The dimensions of OnePlus 6 are 155.7×75.4×7.75 mm and weight is 177 grams. The dimensions of OnePlus 5T are 156.1x75x7.3 millimeters and weight is 162 grams. This means the OnePlus 6 is slightly smaller, wider and thicker and also weighs 15 grams more.
OnePlus 6 comes with all glass body. Corning Gorilla Glass 5 has been used on both sides. At the same time, OnePlus 5T has a metal unibody design. It has Gorilla Glass 5 protection only on the front panel. Despite using glass, OnePlus has claimed that the OnePlus 6 is stronger than the company’s older generation handsets.
Another difference is the notch display like the iPhone X. The company has placed the front camera, proximity sensor and ear piece in this notch. Whereas in OnePlus 5T, all these hardware were present on the upper part. The fingerprint sensor in both the smartphones is on the back of the handset. Apart from this, OnePlus 6 has a vertical dual rear camera setup, that too in the middle of the rear panel. The dual rear camera in OnePlus 5T is in horizontal format. It has got a place on the top left side of the smartphone.
The next important difference is the color variant. OnePlus 5T was first made available in Midnight Black color. After this, Lava Red and Star Wars (White) special editions were launched. OnePlus 6 has been made available in Midnight Black and Mirror Black colors. Silk White Special Edition will be launched next month.
OnePlus 6 vs OnePlus 5T: Hardware differences
Let’s start with the camera. OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 5T have dual rear camera setup. Well, there are some similarities and some big differences too. OnePlus 6 has a vertical dual camera setup, while OnePlus 5T has a horizontal dual camera setup. This phone has a 16 megapixel Sony IMX519 sensor. It is equipped with F/1.7 aperture, OIS and EIS. The secondary sensor is of 20 megapixels. This Sony IM376K sensor is with F/1.7 aperture. The rear camera comes with dual LED flash module. The company has reported slow motion recording capability at the rate of 480 frames per second.
On the other hand, OnePlus 5T has a 16-megapixel Sony IMX398 sensor. It has F/1.7 aperture. The secondary camera is 20 megapixels. This Sony IMX376K sensor is with F/1.7 aperture. The dual rear camera setup of this phone comes with dual LED flash.
OnePlus 6 has a 16 megapixel front camera. It is equipped with Sony IMX371 sensor, F/2.0 aperture and EIS. Now users will be able to enjoy portrait mode with the front camera. OnePlus 5T has a 16-megapixel Sony IMX371 sensor. This is F/2.0 aperture. It does not have portrait mode feature.
A major difference between both the smartphones is the display. OnePlus’s latest handset has a 6.28-inch full-HD+ (1080×2280 pixels) Full Optic AMOLED display. This will be a screen with 19:9 aspect ratio. The protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 is available on it. OnePlus 5T has a 6.01-inch full-HD+ (1080×1920 pixels) Optic AMOLED display. Its aspect ratio is 18:9. With a pixel density of 401 pixels per inch, this screen has the protection of 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 845 processor has been used in OnePlus 6. The maximum clock speed is 2.8 GHz. With this, 6 GB or 8 GB RAM is available for pairing. Octa-core Snapdragon 835 processor has been used in OnePlus 5T. Its maximum clock speed is 2.45 GHz. In RAM, customers have the option of 6 GB RAM and 8 GB RAM. Adreno 540 GPU is integrated for graphics.
Another big difference is storage. There will be a variant of OnePlus 6 with 256 GB storage. The maximum storage of OnePlus 5T is 128 GB. There is no support for microSD card in any smartphone.
OnePlus 6 vs OnePlus 5T: Software differences
OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 5T run on Oxygen OS. This is the company’s custom Android ROM. OnePlus 5T was launched with OxygenOS 4.7, but now it has been upgraded to OxygenOS 5.1. This software will be available out of box in OnePlus 6. Both the handsets run on Android 8.1 Oreo. There is no major difference in the software provided in both the handsets. The company has definitely said that OnePlus 6 has been further optimized.
