OpenAI GPT-4o Starts Rolling Out For Some Users Gets Web Searching Features

We at Gadgets 360 got access to the GPT-4o model on Friday morning. This confirms that the AI model will be available in India, although it was not revealed during OpenAI’s spring update event. However, it was only available to certain staff members, so it’s likely that the company is rolling out the AI model gradually and it will take a few weeks for everyone to use it. Let us tell you that limited access is also very restricted. We were able to get about 10 questions before the limit was reached and we had to shift back to GPT-3.5.

Currently users cannot do anything to get faster access than others. However, there is no waiting list to join. Users will need an OpenAI update for this update. Once GPT-4o is available, users will receive a message when they open the website explaining that they can now access it in a limited capacity. If you have the same account on your Android or iOS app, you will get access to the models there too. The thing to note is that on reloading the message will disappear.

Here’s an easy test to check if you have GPT-4o. After opening the ChatGPT website, you can see a menu on the top left inside the margin. If you don’t have access to GPT-4o and are a free user, it will show ChatGPT 3.5 and give you the option to sign up for ChatGPT Plus with access to GPT-4. However, if you have access to the new AI model, the menu will not contain any number information and will only contain information about ChatGPT and ChatGPT Plus. Apart from this, the power icon has been replaced with two elliptical circles.
We studied the new AI model and found some improvements in its response. It now displays answers in a better format than GPT-3.5. The creative generation is also more fluid and its use of ‘robotic’ language has reduced significantly. The biggest upgrade is that this model can search the web to give you new information. Every web based search result now comes with a reference to which website was used to get the information.
