Oppo K3 design
This is not the first time that we have seen design similarities between Oppo and Realme phones. The length, width and weight of both the phones are also equal. Due to the laminated back panel, it also gets smudges easily but we did not see many scratch marks during the review. The polycarbonate body of Oppo K3 looks premium and sturdy.
The placement of the buttons is also similar compared to Realme X. Dual-SIM tray is provided on the right side of the phone but there is no option to increase the storage. Single speaker, USB Type-C port and headphone jack are given in the lower part of the phone while pop-up selfie camera is given in the middle of the upper part of the phone. Sapphire glass has been used to protect the sensor.

The Oppo K3 sports a 6.5-inch AMOLED display with full-HD+ resolution. There is also Gorilla Glass to protect the screen. Colors look good on the AMOLED panel and the brightness of the phone is also good. For security, an in-display fingerprint sensor has been provided which unlocks the phone quickly.
The Oppo K3 has two color variants – one is Aurora Blue (we have it for review) and the other is Jade Black. You will get to see a dual-tone finish of purple and magenta color in the phone, which looks very good and due to lamination, cool visual patterns are visible when the light falls on it. In the retail box you will get VOOC 3.0 Fast Charger, USB Type-C Cable, Case, SIM Eject Tool.
Specification and software of Oppo K3
Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor has been given in Oppo K3, this chipset provides good CPU and GPU performance. Two variants of Oppo K3 have been launched, one with 6 GB RAM and 64 GB storage, which is priced at Rs 16,990. Second, with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage, which is priced at Rs 19,990.
We have got its 64 GB storage variant for review which has plenty of space. Oppo K3 includes dual 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth version 5, USB-OTG, GPS support. The phone doesn’t have a notification LED but you can enable the always-on screen where you’ll see the clock, missed call alerts and only SMS.

Oppo K3 has FM radio but let us remind you that Realme X does not have FM radio. This phone of Oppo brand runs on ColorOS 6 based on Android 9 Pie. Our review unit is running on the July Android security patch. The interface is easy to use and has many shortcuts and gestures which we also saw in the recent Realme X.
The Dolby Atmos sound in Oppo K3 is enabled by default when the phone’s speaker is used. ColorOS does not send you unnecessary notifications but Oppo App Store app does send you notifications but you can disable them by going to the app settings. You will already get some third party apps like NewsPoint, UC Browser, Dailyhunt etc. pre-installed in the phone, but if you want, you can also uninstall them.
Oppo K3 performance and battery life
The phone feels quite heavy when kept in the pocket and it is not easy to use the phone with one hand. We recently reviewed the Realme Sometimes the Oppo K3 slips out of the hand but thankfully a case is provided in the retail box which helps in maintaining grip on the phone.
The phone runs Android well and we did not complain about the phone getting hot. The phone became slightly warm during gaming. The Snapdragon 710 processor in Oppo K3 has good integrated graphics capabilities. Both Asphalt 9: Legends and PUBG Mobile ran smoothly on high graphics settings.

It may be difficult to use the larger display for general use but you will have a good experience while watching movies or playing games. The good color saturation and high brightness of the AMOLED panel makes viewing content on the display enjoyable. Apart from this, the speaker with Dolby Atmos produces good and loud sound.
The ejection and retraction mechanism in the pop-up camera is fast due to which face recognition works well. Screen light helps you unlock your phone in low light. To bring life to the Oppo K3, a 3,765 mAh battery has been provided, Realme X also has a battery with the same capacity.
The results of our battery loop test are also very similar. In our HD video loop test, the Oppo K3 lasted for 14 hours and 46 minutes and with normal usage, the phone lasted for more than a day. The fast charger available with the phone charges the phone from 0 to 52 percent in half an hour and up to 91 percent in an hour.
Oppo K3 camera
The rear camera of this phone is slightly different compared to Realme X. Oppo K3 has a 16-megapixel primary camera whose aperture is F/1.7. There’s also a 2-megapixel depth-sensing camera for use in portrait mode. The autofocus system in the Oppo K3 is fast and it does not take much time to lock focus on the subject.
Photos are saved quickly as soon as you click the shutdown button. In landscape shots taken in daylight, details were captured well, colors had good saturation and HDR also handled exposure well. The camera app also has a chroma boost feature that we’ve seen on Realme phones, it’s called Dazzle Color. Sharpness and detail were captured well in close-up shots, although the camera’s AI boosted the primary colors.

Photos taken indoors in artificial light also looked good. Details were captured well, colors looked good and there was no noise in the pictures. Focusing speed was also good. While shooting outdoors at night, the pictures were good but lacked detail. This problem is fixed with the Night Shooting Mode which improves the brightness in dark areas, fixes overexposed areas and compensates for the lack of detail in the scene.

Oppo K3 has a 16-megapixel selfie camera, which captures good selfies even when shooting against light. HDR is very effective but the camera struggles to capture good detail in low light. The default beautification setting is a bit aggressive in terms of skin smoothening.

Talking about videos, the Oppo K3 is capable of recording up to 4K resolution but without any stabilization. Image quality is good but colors seem a bit boosted. Continuous autofocus is also fast and there was no problem while switching between two subjects. There is stabilization at 1080p which works well. Image quality in low light is average.
The camera app is easy to use and the viewfinder has the option to activate Google Lens in addition to standard shooting modes like time lapse, panorama, expert and slow-motion.
our decision
The Oppo K3 is a good all-rounder phone. We have a 64 GB storage variant whose price is equal to the base variant of Realme realme x Same as the 4GB RAM variant. The cameras are also different on both the devices but in our experience, the Oppo K3 smartphone has been very close to the camera performance of the Realme X.
Between the base models of the two, we prefer Realme Let us remind you that there is no option to increase the storage in Oppo K3. Oppo K3 Competitors Handset redmi note 7 pro And Vivo Z1 Pro can also provide you more storage and option to increase the storage in the same price segment.
Oppo K3 is an online exclusive phone and is available for sale only on Amazon. On the other hand, Realme Let us tell you that the top variant of Oppo K3 has equal RAM and storage as Realme X.
