Oreo biscuit manufacturing company stopped advertising on Twitter, cited hate speech as the reason

After the purchase of Twitter by the world’s richest person Elon Musk, this micro blogging site is facing setbacks. Oreo biscuit maker Mondelez has also joined the companies that have stopped advertising on Twitter. Earlier, companies like General Motors and United Airlines had stopped advertisements on Twitter.

Mondelez CEO Dirk Van de Put in an interview with Reuters Said“We’ve noticed an increase in hate speech since the major changes to Twitter. We believe this puts our ads at risk of appearing with the wrong message. For this reason, we’ve decided to stop advertising. ” Twitter has not commented on this. The company laid off about half of its staff last week. The big problem for Twitter has been monetization and Musk is trying to solve it. In this series, it has been announced to charge about eight dollars per month for blue tick with verification on Twitter.

Earlier, automobile company Stellantis had also informed about stopping all advertisements on Twitter. Stellantis said she is looking forward to seeing how Twitter transforms the platform under its new owner. Stellantis, formed by the merger of Fiat Chrysler and PSA, said, “We are pausing ads until there is clarity regarding the future of Twitter under new leadership.”

Volkswagen, one of the major automobile companies, had said last week that after Musk bought Twitter, it had asked its brands to stop advertising on this platform. Twitter co-founder and former CEO, Jack Dorsey has apologized to the staff working in it and those who were fired after Elon Musk took over the company. He has said that he is to blame for the current situation and he knows that many people are angry with him. Dorsey admits that growing the company too fast was a mistake. He tweeted, “The people who have worked before and currently working at Twitter are strong. No matter how difficult the situation is, they will find a way. I know many people are angry with me. I take responsibility for this situation. Am.”
