Over 60000 Android Apps on Third Party Stores Contains Adware Fake Netflix YouTube TikTok Free VPN Warns Bitdefender
Bitdefender’s Report According to , adware has been found in at least 60,000 Android apps in the last six months. Adwares often run advertisements in the background and due to this, they also have a negative impact on the battery backup of the smartphone. These also affect the performance of the smartphone.
The report suggests that the infected apps are not being found on the official Google Play Store, but on eligible third-party app stores or websites when searched through Google Search. Not only this, many of these third-party apps copy popular apps like Netflix, YouTube, TikTok and also claim to provide an ad-free experience like free VPN or premium apps.
Common users can be easily fooled by these websites because when a user opens a third-party website allegedly through Google search, he or she is taken to an advertising page that looks like a legitimate download page. Yes, but it actually installs adware on the device.
Once the app is installed and opened on the smartphone, it shows an error message and an option to uninstall the app. Now, even if a user uninstalls it, the adware still remains in the smartphone and keeps running in the background.
