Power outage in Nasa Building Houston disrupts communication between Mission Control and ISS
According to the report of news agency AP, due to sudden power cut, NASA had to go to the backup control system for the first time. The power outage disrupted Mission Control’s command, telemetry and audio communications with the ISS.
The incident occurred during an upgrading project at the Johnson Space Center in Houston. To ensure that the astronauts aboard the ISS do not get disturbed, the astronauts were informed about the entire matter with the help of the Russian communication system.
The report quoted NASA as saying that there was no threat to the astronauts and the ISS. With the help of the backup control system, communication was restored within 90 minutes. NASA says that the cause of the problem was not the ISS, but a malfunction on the ground. There was no danger to any crew member or spacecraft.
NASA has a backup control system to deal with such situations. However, this was the first time that the help of backup control system had to be taken. This system has been prepared for the time when NASA building has to be closed due to bad weather i.e. storm. However, for the first time the backup system had to be activated, that too due to power failure. NASA has prepared its backup control system hundreds of kilometers away from Houston.
what is iss
International Space Station (ISS) is stationed in space 400 kilometers above the Earth. This is a joint project of many countries, which also includes America and Russia. A team of astronauts is always stationed on the ISS and completes science-related experiments and other tasks.
