PUBG returning as Battlegrounds Mobile India, flood of memes on social media

Battlegrounds Mobile India has been announced as the Indian variant of PUBG Mobile by South Korean publisher Krafton. PUBG Mobile game was banned by the Indian government in September last year. India’s tricolor theme has also been included in the logo of this new game which will attract mobile gamers in India. Pre-registration can also be done for it before its launch in India.

This announcement has given a good news for those who were disappointed due to the ban of PUBG Mobile game. Unable to wait to play their favorite game, users have created a flurry of memes on social media.

In fact, last year the Indian government had banned 118 China-related apps. PUBG Mobile was also included in these. The reason behind this step was said to be the complaints in which it was said that these apps were stealing data and sending information illegally to servers located outside the country. After the ban, Krafton’s subsidiary PUBG Corporation took over the publishing and distribution rights of PUBG Mobile from Chinese company Tencent Games.

Now Krafton is claiming that this new game follows all Indian laws and regulations. In terms of collecting and storing data from the player, it will work only under Indian rules. It is also said that Krafton will now work with its partners in the country to create an e-sports ecosystem in which it will introduce India-specific in-game events at the time of launch.

After the game was banned in the month of September, the South Korean company made several efforts to convince the Indian government to lift the ban. In this, the company was also ready to localize the data and create a dedicated team of 100 people in India for it.
