Realme Narzo 20 Review in Hindi, Review of Realme Narzo 20
New Narzo 20 In terms of series design and features realme c12 And Realme C15 And when it comes to specifications, we are struggling to fit them in the right segment. It costs Rs 500 less than the Realme C15 and comes with a better processor, but there are some compromises when it comes to cameras.
Here realme It is becoming difficult for us to understand what she wants to do. In such a situation, only one question arises, is Realme making things complicated for buyers? Who should buy these new models and who will buy other smartphones? We are going to try to answer these questions in this review of Realme Narzo 20.
Realme Narzo 20 price and specifications
The biggest thing that differentiates the Realme Narzo 20 from the C1x series smartphones is its more powerful MediaTek Helio G85 processor. We saw slightly sluggish performance in the Realme C12 and C15 due to the Helio G35 chipset. In this situation, this is a big improvement. The phone has been launched with 4 GB RAM and has 64 GB and 128 GB storage variants to choose from, which are priced at Rs 10,499 and Rs 11,499 respectively.
The second big difference is in the camera setup. Narzo 20 has a 48-megapixel primary camera, 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera and 2-megapixel macro lens. It is surprising that the company has not used another low-resolution sensor in the phone and launched this phone with the “quad camera” badge, which is the biggest marketing weapon these days, but we do not consider it a compromise. There’s a lot you can do even with three cameras.
All other specifications remain the same across all three models. The 6000mAh battery is undoubtedly a big selling point and you also get 18W fast charging. Interestingly, the Narzo 20 gets a USB Type-C port, whereas its smaller siblings require a Micro-USB cable and charger to charge. All three models in the new Narzo 20 series have similar dimensions and feel quite thick at 9.8mm thickness, although the Narzo 20 is lighter than the other two phones with its 208g weight.
All three phones have the same display specifications, but there is no information about which panel Realme has used in them. You get a 6.5-inch HD+ (720×1600 pixels) panel, which comes with a waterdrop notch. It has a tray slot supporting two nano-SIM and a microSD card. Also dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5 support is also included.
Realme Narzo 20 design and usability
We’re not surprised that the Narzo 20 looks very similar to the C-series models. It even comes in silver and blue colors like the C-series. Our Narzo 20 unit is Victory Blue. The rectangular camera module has three lenses and a flash and there’s also a fingerprint sensor on the back, which may feel a bit tall for users with small hands. Given that this is a relatively thick phone, it’s not too difficult to hold, but you’ll definitely feel the weight if you’re used to long conversations.
On the front you have rounded edges and thick bezels around the phone and the chin is also relatively thick. Realme says that Gorilla Glass has been used in it, but information has not been given which version. Our unit came with a thin screen protector pre-installed, but a plastic case is not included in the retail box. The power and volume buttons are all found on the right side, which are easy to reach.
Realme has done a good job with the overall design. This phone doesn’t necessarily feel very premium, but the build quality is solid. It is not very difficult to use it with one hand due to its comfortable size and non-slippery.
Realme Narzo 20 software and performance
Our review unit came with Android 10 and the August 2020 security patch. The Realme UI skin is smooth and not much different from stock Android, while still offering a lot of useful features like split screen mode, game optimizer, app cloning, kids mode, private storage, smart sidebar, and gestures.
Of course there is some preloaded bloatware, including several Realme apps, Amazon, Facebook, and WPS Office. Apart from this, apps like browser, music and video apps as well as theme store are also available in the phone, which cannot be removed. Theme stores and browsers frequently push notifications to the phone, but we didn’t have any issues with anything else.
The screen wasn’t bright enough in sunlight to enjoy content, and we noticed that the automatic adjustment sometimes didn’t do the trick when it needed to. The screen resolution is a bit low and colors aren’t as vivid, but everything still looked pretty crisp and the content experience was decent. The speaker can also be called okay, but not excellent. This is fine for game effects, but not for music lovers. Widevine DRM certification is only L3, so HD video streaming is not possible.
Gaming is considered to be the main strength of MediaTek’s Helio G-series processors, so we tried out some popular games. Asphalt 9: Legends was mostly smooth, but there were frame freezes and flips and crashes during some gaming scenes. Dead Trigger 2 ran without any issues. The back of the Narzo 20 got slightly warm while playing heavy games.
The 6000mAh battery was definitely good for its capacity. We were able to use the Narzo 20 for about two days on a single charge. During this time we streamed an entire movie, took lots of photos and videos, streamed various media content and even played some games. The phone lasted 29 hours, 6 minutes in our HD video loop test. If we look at the battery capacity, charging was also relatively fast.
Realme Narzo 20 cameras
As we mentioned, the new Narzo 20 phone hasn’t added an extra weak sensor like the Realme C1x model just to follow the trend, which is a good thing. Competitors may offer four cameras, but trust me, you won’t feel the need for a lower-resolution sensor at all. The lack of a depth sensor is surprising though, considering it’s a very low-cost feature available even in entry-level smartphones these days.
The primary camera is 48-megapixel, which does its job well and gives reasonable photo quality. Colors are quite good most of the time, but details are a bit dull and exposure isn’t always perfect. It has the option of taking photos at full 48-megapixel resolution, so you can take quite good shots, but it is useless to expect better details when cropping a part of the photo.
However, depth of field works well and the Narzo 20 also locks focus quickly. There’s a Portrait mode, which instantly detects the edges of the subject, but you can’t set the blur effect before or after taking the shot. As we expected, the quality of the pictures taken with the ultra-wide camera was very poor and there was a lot of distortion in them.
At night, the Narzo 20 performs just fine. There is a lack of noise (grain) and details in the photos and the colors of the shots are quite dull. There is a night mode, which really makes a difference. Bright areas aren’t overexposed and colors come out well, but that doesn’t mean shots come out obviously better all the time. You compromise on details.
The low-resolution macro camera may entertain you, but the shots are not that good. The colors are bound to look dull along with the lack of details and sharpness.
The 8-megapixel front camera does a pretty good job during the day, but isn’t very effective at night. Beautification is on by default. There’s also a Portrait mode, which detected my face accurately but added artificial blur to the background. Video recorded in 1080p, whether during the day or at night, is shaky and the details aren’t great. You can use the wide-angle camera, but you can’t switch between the two while recording video.
Verdict
Realme has further complicated its product lineup with the release of Narzo 20. This phone easily beats Realme C15. Although the C15 starts at a lower price, the Narzo 20 is actually less expensive when you look at its specifications. The Narzo 20 has a better processor and overall performance is clearly better. It also has a Type-C port and arguably more useful cameras.
According to Realme, the Narzo series prioritizes performance and gaming, while the C-series models offer huge screens and bigger batteries and the number series focuses on premium features along with style, camera and quality. It makes sense on paper, but there’s really nothing the C1x series models can do that the Narzo 20 can’t do. The company could have made either series thinner and lighter with a smaller battery, but that is not the case.
Hence Narzo 20 makes a better and safer choice to recommend compared to its other brothers. It is a very strong offering in its segment. Priced just above Rs 10,000, this is a good phone, which also offers great battery life and a good gaming experience.
