Nowadays it is very important for users to have a good camera in a smartphone. If that is the reason, we are going to compare the camera performance of Redmi Note 9 Pro and Realme 6 through this post today. At present, the budget smartphone segment is growing the fastest in the market. Almost every week a new contender is launched in this segment. In all these smartphones, companies are focusing the most on the camera. Both Xiaomi and Realme companies have launched Redmi Note 9 Pro and Realme 6 in this segment. The starting price of both smartphones is Rs 12,999. Although both these phones include excellent hardware, but today here we are testing the camera of both the phones and are going to remove your dilemma regarding the camera performance of both of them.

Before we start talking about the camera performance of Redmi Note 9 Pro and Realme 6, let us tell you some of the main highlights of the camera of both of them. Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 9 Pro comes with a quad rear camera setup with a 48-megapixel Samsung GM2 primary sensor. On the other hand, the rear camera setup of Realme 6 has a 64-megapixel primary camera. Even though on paper, the Realme 6 smartphone looks a step ahead of the Redmi Note 8 Pro, but the camera performance does not depend only on megapixels. To overcome this dilemma, we are going to review the camera performance of Redmi Note 9 Pro and Realme 6.

Realme 6 also has a similar price. The starting price of the 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage variant of the phone in India is Rs 12,999. However, the 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage variant of Realme 6 is Rs 1,000 cheaper than the Redmi Note 9 Pro i.e. Rs 14,999. Realme has also launched Realme 6 in an additional 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage variant, which is priced at Rs 15,999. Here, with 2 GB additional RAM, the Realme 6 smartphone goes one step ahead of the Redmi Note 9 Pro.

Both phones have four rear cameras, but the sensors and lenses are quite different from each other. The Redmi Note 9 Pro has a 48-megapixel Samsung GM2 primary sensor. Apart from this, the phone has an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera, a 5-megapixel macro camera and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. On the other hand, the Realme 6 has a 64-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera, a 2-megapixel macro camera and a depth sensor, the resolution of which has not been given by the company. For selfies, both phones have 16-megapixel front cameras.

Autofocus is quite fast on both phones. When taking pictures in daylight, we found that the Realme 6 camera performs better. Compared to the Redmi Note 9 Pro, the details of distant subjects are more clear and the colors also look more natural. Redmi Note 9 Pro makes the pictures quite sharp and also enhances the color tone. If we look at the shots taken with the wide-angle cameras of both the phones, the details look better in the pictures taken with the Redmi Note 9 Pro. This phone is also good for macro shots. Close-ups are almost the same in both phones. However, the colors look good in the Realme 6 camera and the texture is also good.

Even in low light, the Realme 6 produced better detail and exposure in the dark areas of photos. However, in photos taken with the wide-angle camera, the wide-angle camera of the Realme 6 performed slightly better than the Note 9 Pro.

Talking about selfies, we found that Realme 6 produces good detail in selfies and also processes skin tones better. However, Redmi Note 9 Pro also did not lag behind Realme 6 in this segment. Both the selfie cameras gave average performance in low light, still if one has to be declared the winner then we would say Realme 6 is better here. In low-light pictures taken with Realme 6, the skin tone came out a bit warm. In the pictures taken with the screen flash on in both the phones, the pictures taken by Redmi Note 9 Pro had brighter colors, which is a good thing, but the camera app exaggerated the color tone a lot while processing. Realme 6 took better selfies with more accurate colors.

Both the Realme 6 and Redmi Note 9 Pro can shoot up to 4K resolution videos, but without stabilisation. During the day, the Redmi Note 9 Pro captures videos with too much boosted colours, while the Realme 6 captures more realistic footage. While recording videos at 1080p, the Redmi Note 9 Pro offers better stability, but once again, it boosts colours too much.

Footage recorded with both phones at 4K in low light is filled with noise, but the Realme 6 captures better colours. Footage at 1080p is still grainy, but the Realme 6 manages to capture better exposure and details than the Redmi Note 9 Pro. When it comes to recordings made with wide-angle cameras, the Redmi Note 9 Pro performs better here. However, in low light, both phones captured very dark videos, which were not even passable.
