Both phones have four rear cameras, but the sensors and lenses are quite different from each other. Redmi Note 9 Pro has a 48-megapixel Samsung GM2 primary sensor. Apart from this, the phone has an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera, 5-megapixel macro camera and 2-megapixel depth sensor. On the other hand, Realme 6 has a 64-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera, a 2-megapixel macro camera, and a depth sensor, the resolution of which has not been disclosed by the company. Both phones have 16-megapixel front cameras for selfies.

Autofocus is quite fast on both phones. When taking photos in daylight, we found that the Realme 6 camera performed better. In comparison to Redmi Note 9 Pro, the details of distant subjects come out better and the colors also look more natural. Redmi Note 9 Pro makes photos quite sharp and also enhances the color tones. If we look at the shots taken from the wide-angle cameras of both the phones, the details are better seen in the pictures taken from Redmi Note 9 Pro. This phone is also good for macro shots. Close-ups are almost the same on both phones. However, colors appear good in the camera of Realme 6 and the texture also looks good.

Even in low light, the Realme 6 produced better detail and exposure in dark areas of photos. However, in photos taken with the wide-angle camera, the wide-angle camera of Realme 6 performed slightly better than the Note 9 Pro.

Talking about selfies, we found that Realme 6 captures good details in selfies and also processes skin tones better. However, Redmi Note 9 Pro also did not lag far behind Realme 6 in this segment. Both the selfie cameras delivered average performance in low light, yet if we had to declare one the winner, we would say the Realme 6 is better here. In low-light photos taken with Realme 6, the skin tone appeared slightly warm. Photos taken with the screen flash on on both phones produced bright colors on the Redmi Note 9 Pro, which is good, but the camera app exaggerated the color tones during processing. The Realme 6 took good selfies with more accurate colors.

Both the Realme 6 and Redmi Note 9 Pro can shoot up to 4K resolution videos, but without stabilization. During the day, the Redmi Note 9 Pro captures greatly enhanced colors in videos, while the Realme 6 captures more realistic-looking footage. The Redmi Note 9 Pro has better stability when recording videos at 1080 pixels, but once again it overexposes the colors.

In low light, footage recorded with both phones at 4K is filled with noise (extremely small particles), but the Realme 6 captures better colors. The footage still comes out grainy at 1080 pixels, but the Realme 6 smartphone produces better exposure and details than the Redmi Note 9 Pro. Talking about recording done with wide-angle cameras, Redmi Note 9 Pro performs better here. However, in low light both the phones captured very dark videos, which were not even usable.
