Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime Review in Hindi, Review of Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime

The Galaxy J series has been a significant change for Samsung. According to IDC data released in August, the Galaxy J series was very successful in the Indian market and Samsung smartphones were sold in large numbers in the second quarter of 2016. Samsung launched Galaxy J2 (2016), Galaxy J3 (6), Galaxy J5 (2016), Galaxy J7 (2016) smartphones in this quarter. Maintaining this popularity, the company also introduced Galaxy J5 Prime and Galaxy J7 Prime smartphones. Today we will review Galaxy J7 Prime.
The new Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime is made of metal body. Coming with 4G support, this phone has a big battery and fingerprint scanner. The company has also given ‘smart’ features like S Power Planning, S Bike Mode and S Secure in this phone especially for India. These features have been developed in the company’s R&D center. Today we will know in the full review what kind of smartphone is Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime?
Look and texture
Samsung users have been complaining for years about the lack of innovative design in the Galaxy series smartphones. The South Korean company has made some design changes in its premium segment smartphones, but the budget and mid-range smartphones largely come with the old Samsung style. The Galaxy J7 Prime is also a part of that crowd.

This phone has a physical home button below the display, surrounded by capacitive recent and back buttons. Apart from the metal rear panel, the build of the new J7 Prime feels sturdy and its curved rounded edges make it comfortable to hold. The Galaxy J7 Prime is a bit thick at 8 millimeters thick. However, despite having a 5.5 inch screen, the weight of the phone is 167 grams. The phone has a 3.5 mm audio jack and a micro-USB port at the bottom. The phone has the Samsung logo above the display. Apart from this, there is company branding on the rear also.
Compared to other phones in the same price range, the metal body given in Galaxy J7 Prime definitely makes it better. The phone has 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass on the front, which gives the phone a premium feel. With a 5.5-inch screen size, the J7 Prime is not easy to use with one hand and during our review we could only use it with both hands. Having a metal rear panel also makes the handset slip a bit, especially when the hands are sweaty. There is a power button on the right side of the phone and SIM and microSD card slots are provided parallel to it. Samsung has given separate slots for SIM and microSD card in J7 Prime. Due to which the user will not have to choose between the first SIM or microSD card like the hybrid slot.

Galaxy J7 Prime has a camera with LED flash on the rear. It is worth noting that the rear panel of the phone is not completely made of metal and plastic panels have been used at the top and bottom. However, because of the paint it looks like metal.
The Galaxy J7 Prime has a fingerprint sensor integrated into the home button. The fingerprint sensor is always easy to use. With this the device can be unlocked quickly. Double tapping the home button opens the camera and it works even when the phone is locked.

The Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime has a 5.5-inch Full HD (1080×1920 pixels) display which is quite bright. The phone can be easily read even in sunlight. Colors look good on the phone and black levels are also excellent. 480 ppi density means that text looks sharp on the screen. The J7 Prine is a great device for watching videos and playing games.
Specifications and Software
The new Galaxy J7 Prime is powered by an octa-core Samsung Exynos 7870 processor clocked at 1.6 GHz. The phone has 3 GB RAM. This phone has 16 GB inbuilt storage which can be expanded up to 256 GB via microSD card. This dual SIM phone comes with two Nano SIMs and 4G support. However, 4G can be connected only on one SIM card at a time. This phone has a 13-megapixel autofocus rear camera with aperture F/1.9 and an LED flash. The phone has an 8 megapixel front camera. The Galaxy J7 Prime has a 3300 mAh non-removable battery. Talking about connectivity, Galaxy J7 Prime has features like GPRS/EDGE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/AC, GPS/A-GPS, Bluetooth and GLONASS.

This phone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow on which Samsung’s TouchWiz UI is provided. Samsung has put a lot of work into its TouchWiz UI over the years and it’s now lighter than ever. Like Samsung’s existing premium smartphones, the J7 Prime also comes with a host of preloaded apps like Microsoft Word, Excel, OneDrive, OneNote, PowerPoint and Skype. There is a Google folder on the home screen of the phone which contains Google apps like Gmail, Chrome, Google Search, YouTube, Drive, Play Music, Play Movies & TV, Hangouts and Photos. Apart from Google and Microsoft, the J7 Prime also comes pre-installed with a number of Samsung apps including the phone’s default mail app and web browser, S Health, Galaxy Apps and S Planner.
Talking about software, Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime has new S Power Planning and S Secure feature. The phone also has ultra-data saving mode and S bike mode. However, these two feature smartphones have also been given in previous smartphones.

With S Power Planning, users can use the remaining battery for longer periods of time. The company has given a new battery management system, it has been named S Power Planning. The company says that keeping your needs in mind, it gives you many facilities when the battery is low. If your phone’s battery is getting low then you can reserve the battery for important calls and messages. This is possible by reducing unnecessary background activity. With the help of this feature, you will be able to forward all your incoming calls to a specific number in case the battery drains.
The company has introduced a new feature S Secure with this handset. With its help you will be able to lock and hide any particular app. Apart from this, you will be able to keep any content private and secure. Apart from this, fingerprint scanner gives you additional security. Through App Lock and Hide, you will be able to put a virtual lock on any app. And it will also be possible to hide them. The Galaxy J7 Prime also features Secure Wi-Fi that encrypts data while on a public Wi-Fi hotspot.

Apart from this, the S Bike Mode given in J7 Prime was earlier seen in Galaxy J3 (6). The S Bike Mode feature has been designed keeping in mind that incoming phone calls do not cause any inconvenience to the two-wheeler rider. Once this feature is activated, the user will be able to detect incoming calls through a feature called ‘Smart Reply’ in the phone. Additionally, users can also activate this mode by tapping the Galaxy J3 (6) with the NFC tag that comes with it in the retail box. The company says that the NFC tag can be pasted on the petrol tank of the bike or on the helmet, so that the user can easily activate and deactivate this mode. While riding, the caller will be informed through a pre-recorded message that the user is not able to take the call as he is on a two-wheeler. While this mode is active, the user will not detect the incoming call nor will he face any kind of problem due to the absence of any vibration or ring during the incoming call. However, people calling Galaxy J3 (6) users will be able to make the call directly by pressing 1 in case of an emergency.
Keeping user convenience in mind, Samsung has defaulted S Power Planning, S Secure, Secure Wi-Fi and S Bike Mode in the quick settings panel.
camera
Galaxy J7 Prime has a 13-megapixel rear camera with aperture F/1.9 and LED flash. The large aperture lets in more light in every shot, resulting in detailed photos during the day. Most of the pictures taken from the phone’s camera come with good colors and crisp. We noted that focusing was easy with this handset.

Whereas indoors or in low light, the Galaxy J7 Prime produces good crisp pictures. However, when zoomed to full size, the pictures get scattered a bit. Overall, the performance of the rear camera of J7 is quite good. The phone records only full-HD resolution videos.

Selfie comes with detailing with the 8 megapixel camera given in J7 Prime and aperture F/1.9. In low light, pictures from the front camera come with some noise. The camera app on the J7 is easy to use and launches quickly.
performance
During our review process, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime handled almost every task with ease. The octa-core processor given in the phone works very well and we have no complaints about it. Games like Dead Trigger 2 run smoothly on the phone. Multitasking is done well in J7 Prime and apps also launch quickly.

While using this device, we observed that about 1.3 GB memory was free in the phone all the time, which is quite a good thing. It is fun to watch videos and play games on the 5.5 inch screen. The sound from the speaker is quite good and we did not face any problem even at high volume. Samsung didn’t send us headphones in the box so we tested the audio quality with our own headphones and we found it to be quite good.
However, the fingerprint sensor provided in Galaxy J7 Prime disappointed us a bit. Most of the time this works well but sometimes it takes multiple presses of the home button to unlock the phone. We have seen better smartphones that work faster in smartphones priced lower than the J7 Prime.
During our review, we did not face any problem with 4G connectivity on the Galaxy J7 Prime. And we could use 4G Vodafone SIM smoothly all the time.
The Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime returned very good numbers in our standard benchmark tests.
battery life
Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime has a non-removable battery of 3300 mAh. In our video loop test, the handset lasted continuously for 14 hours and 50 minutes, which cannot be called bad. At the same time, with medium usage, once the Galaxy J7 is charged, it lasts for about 36 hours.

Samsung is not touting any kind of fast charging in the Galaxy J7 Prime. But we saw that the phone gets charged from 0 to 40 percent in just 30 minutes. It took just two hours to charge the phone from zero to 100 percent.
our decision
Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime launched in India for Rs 18,790. The phone is available for purchase at various retail stores. This metal body phone has a 3300 mAh battery. Apart from this there is S power planning and superb screen. S Power Planning and Secure Folder are new features in the software. Despite the 5.5-inch screen, the J7 Prime is easy to use.
This new handset of Samsung’s J series will definitely give tough competition to smartphones like Moto X Play and Lenovo Vibe X3. The Galaxy J7 Prime may also face competition from the Lenovo Z2 Plus which has a Snapdragon 820 processor. The price of Lenovo Z2 Plus is Rs 17,999.
