Saudi First Female Astronaut Rayyanah Barnawi Will fly for space May 9

Saudi Arabia is going to create history once again. He is going to send his first female astronaut Rayyanah Barnawi on a space journey. It is being told that as per Indian time, on May 9, Rayana will leave for the International Space Station (ISS) along with one of her Saudi astronauts. This information was revealed in the joint briefing of NASA and Axiom Space on Thursday. Rayana Barnawi and her partner Al-Qarni will fly to the ISS as part of a private mission from Florida, USA.

According to media reports, Reyna Barnawi is identified as a breast cancer researcher. She will be the first Saudi woman to go to space. He will be joined by professional fighter pilot Ali Al-Qarni. Two more astronauts will join the private mission. These are- former NASA astronaut ‘Peggy Whitson’ and businessman John Shoffner, who will be part of the mission as pilots.

It is noteworthy that Saudi Arabia has recently sent one of its astronauts, Sultan Al Neyadi, into space, who is fulfilling his responsibilities on the ISS during the holy month of Ramadan. The four astronauts who left with the private mission on May 9 will join Al Neyadi on the ISS.

SpaceX’s Dragon capsule will be responsible for sending all four astronauts to space. That means the mission will be completed jointly by SpaceX, NASA and Axiom Space. Axiom Space is an American space company, whose second space mission will be this. Reyna Barnawi is very excited about the journey to the ISS. According to Saudi Arabian media, his journey will fulfill the goals of the country’s space program.

Saudi Arabia is making efforts to progress rapidly in the space sector. Last year, the Saudi government also signed the Artemis agreement with the US. After joining the agreement, the United States and Saudi Arabia will together reduce uncertainty in outer space and increase the security of space operations.
