Scientists Record Mysterious Infrasound In Earth Stratosphere

The stratosphere extends in the range of 10 to 50 kilometers from the earth’s surface. Scientists sent a solar powered balloon here and found out that some mysterious sounds were happening here. Surprisingly it has been said that there is no clue as to where these sounds are coming from. Washington Post’s Report According to, these sounds are infrasound. That is, such sounds which are beyond the power of human hearing. Just as we cannot see infrared light, similarly these sounds also cannot be heard. These are such sounds as if someone is making a hushed whisper. These are quite mysterious.
According to the report, Siddhartha Krishnamurthy, a research technologist at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California, said that they have spent a lot of time debating about these mysterious sounds. Another researcher Mr. Bauman told that he has been doing this work for the last 10 years but he is not able to find anything about these voices. He and his friends had earlier also sent such balloons to take photographs of the dark sky above the earth.
But till now no one had tried to understand the sounds here. During this time it occurred to him that no one had tried to listen to the sounds here in more than half a century by placing microphones in stratospheric balloons. It has been said about these balloons that they can carry sensors up to twice the maximum altitude of a jet plane. However, scientists are trying to find out where these sounds are originating from.
