Sony is set to launch the Sony PS5 Pro through retailers and its official website from November 7, 2024. Pre-orders will start from September 26, 2024. The console has a starting price of US$699.99 (approximately Rs 58,784). It comes with a DualSense wireless controller, 2 TB SSD storage and Astro’s Playroom pre-installed. There is also a disc-less version, which has a disc drive separately.

The Sony PS5 Pro is for gamers and gaming creators who want more performance. The company’s target is to offer smooth frame rates without compromising on graphical fidelity. To be precise, heavy games will run at 60FPS with high graphics. It is equipped with an advanced GPU, as Sony offers 67 percent more compute units and 28 percent faster memory than the standard PS5 that allows up to 45 percent faster rendering for smoother gameplay. The brand has also improved the ray tracing capabilities on the PS5 Pro, with the ray cast speed being double or triple that of the base PS5. Sony is using AI to bring better image upscaling. The PS5 Pro uses PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution and machine learning technology to enhance photo clarity.

The list includes Alan Wake 2, Assassin’s Creed: Shadows, Demon’s Souls, Dragon’s Dogma 2, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Gran Turismo 7, Hogwarts Legacy, Horizon Forbidden West, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, The Crew Motorfest, The First Descendant and The Last of Us Part II Remastered. More games are also expected to get enhanced versions that can take advantage of the improved performance of PS5 Pro.
