SonyLIV Premium subscription becomes expensive, price increased by 200 percent

SonyLIV has revealed the new prices of its Premium subscription. For monthly subscription of this OTT platform, you will now have to pay Rs 299, for 6 months subscription you will have to pay Rs 699 and the price of annual subscription has now become Rs 999. The increased prices of SonyLIV Premium have come into effect with SonyLIV launching in a new avatar on Thursday. Both the SonyLIV app and website have been revamped, introducing new series from stand-up comedian Vir Das, National Award-winning writer-director Hansal Mehta and American TV shows like Becoming A God in Central Florida.

Let us tell you, till 11:59 pm on Wednesday night, the price of this SonyLIV subscription was Rs 99 per month, the price for 6 months was Rs 299 and the price for one year was Rs 499. But now the monthly price of subscription of SonyLIV Premium plan has been increased by up to 200 percent, while the price for 6 months has been increased by 134 percent and the price for 1 year has been increased by up to 100 percent. The price hike has been massive, where at Rs 299 you are currently getting 1 month of SonyLIV subscription, 24 hours ago you were getting 6 months of subscription at this price.

At the time of launch, SonyLIV has introduced two originals, Jimmy Shergill starrer crime thriller ‘Your Honor’ and Ranveer Shorey starrer dark comedy ‘Kadak’.

After June, the film ‘Bhonsle’ starring and produced by Manoj Bajpayee will also be presented on SonyLIV. Apart from this, SonyLIV has already announced some original series like Aavrodh, Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story, Undekhi and action thriller SOT: Surgical Operations Team.

It is noteworthy that due to Corona virus lockdown, theaters are locked, due to which OTT platforms have become the only medium of entertainment for the people. These days, along with series and web films, Bollywood films are also being released on the OTT platform. Recently, Ayushmann Khurrana and Amitabh Bachchan starrer film ‘Gulabo-Sitabo’ has been released on Amazon Prime Video, apart from this many other films are ready for online release.
