Starlink of Elon Musk to May Soon Launch Satellite Internet in India, to give competition to reliance jio

The list of companies providing internet service in the country may soon be included in Billionaire Elon Musk’s starlink. This company has got the final regulatory approval to provide satellite internet service. Earlier, Onweeb of Reliance Jio and Eultsat has also got the green signal for the launch of the service.

Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Center (In-Space) has given this approval to Starlink. Starlink will now need to get spectrum from the central government, build infrastructure and show through testing and trial that the company is completing the rules related to security. For the last three years, Starlink was waiting for a license to start its satellite internet service in the country.

There was a dispute between Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Jio and Starlink for several months how to have a spectrum allocation for satellite internet service in the country. However, the government favored Starlink in this case that the satellite spectrum should be allocated instead of oxes. Starlinks lobbied for not auctioning the satellite spectrum. This company had said that licenses should be given according to the international trend for this. Starlinks argued that this is a natural resource that companies associated with communication should share.

Telecom companies like Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio had said that if the price of satellite spectrum is kept low then it will harm their business. This can benefit companies providing satellite internet service like Starlink. The organization Cellular Operators Association of Telecom companies, in a letter to the Telecom Ministry, also demanded a review of the proposal related to pricing of satellite spectrum. The letter said that satellite internet service providers for the government’s telecom companies about 21 percent more for spectrum compared to the price.
