Suzuki Motorcycle Sales Increase 9 Percent in June

Devashish Handa, Executive Vice President, Suzuki Motorcycle, said, “We are happy with our sales in June. We have had a good start to this financial year. Our growth in the first quarter on a year-on-year basis is 15 percent. This growth momentum is expected to continue in the coming months. We thank our customers and dealer network for their continued trust.”
Recently the company launched V-Strom 800 DE. Its price is Rs 10.30 lakh (ex-showroom). It competes with Triumph Tiger 900 and BMW F 850 GS. This motorcycle has a 776 cc liquid-cooled, parallel twin engine. It can generate maximum power of 83 bhp and peak torque of 78 Nm. The company has claimed its mileage to be 22.7 kmpl. The company sells motorcycles and scooters in the country. Its motorcycles include V-Strom SX, Gixxer SF 250, Gixxer 250, Gixxer SF, Gixxer, Katana, Hayabusa and V-Strom 650XT. Apart from this, it sells Avenis, Access 125, Burgman Street and Burgman Street EX scooters. Its Access 125 scooter had achieved the manufacturing milestone of 50 lakh units last year. This was the first scooter in the 125 cc segment.
The company’s Hayabusa is very popular among those who like powerful motorcycles. The company launched its third generation GSX1300RR Hayabusa two years ago. It has a 1,340 cc air-cooled, 4-stroke, DOHC, in-line engine, which can generate maximum power of 190 PS at 9700 rpm and peak torque of 150 Nm at 7000 rpm. It also has features like Suzuki Intelligent Ride System, Anti-Lift Control System, Engine Brake Control System, Slope Dependent Control System, Active Speed Limiter and Hill Hold Control System. In the last financial year, Suzuki motorcycle manufacturing had reached 10 lakh units. Along with this, the capacity of the company’s plant has also started being fully utilised. Its plant was started in 2006. The company’s sales have increased rapidly in the last few years.
