Take special care of these things regarding the security of Aadhar card

Today, Aadhar card gets priority as an identity card in government and many private institutions. Take Reliance Jio only. This company gave SIM cards only to those people who had Aadhar card.

UID or Aadhaar card was first introduced for direct benefit schemes like MNREGA, domestic LPD cylinder. Since July 2014, this biometric based system is being made mandatory for every other scheme. Now it is also being used for services like passport, voter ID, ration card. In such a situation, it is necessary for every person to have Aadhar card.

On the other hand, recently there were reports in the media about breach of Aadhaar data, misuse of biometrics data and breach of personal information. However, UIDAI has said that it has carefully looked into these reports and wants to emphasize that there has been no breach in the UIDAI database of Aadhaar and the personal data of people with UIDAI is absolutely safe. The good thing is that after the news came, the government immediately clarified the situation and gave assurance to the common citizens. But what about next? Now that a system like Aadhaar payments is going to become common. During that time, anti-social elements will keep an eye on our biometric data. In such a situation, you will also have to take special care of some things.

Lock Aadhar biometric data online
Many such cases have also come to light where people have alleged misuse of Aadhaar biometric authentication. There are many people who have not even used their Aadhaar card for many days, but they have received an email from UIDAI that their data has been accessed through biometric authentication. You can avoid this situation if you go to the UIDAI server and lock the biometric information. You can also unlock it before using it. You have to do this.

Avoid giving photo copy of Aadhaar
If you are not completely sure, then avoid giving the photocopy of Aadhaar card to any person. It is possible that it may be used for some wrong purpose. It would be better if you sign the photocopy and also write the purpose for which the photocopy has been given.

Use biometrics data wisely
It is possible that you may have shared your thumb impression with a scanner while purchasing a Reliance Jio SIM. In the coming time, similar fingerprint scan arrangements will be made in many other places in the Aadhaar card based system. If you are unsure about a scanner, we would recommend that you do not provide a thumb impression.

If Aadhaar card is lost
First of all, go to the nearby police station and lodge an FIR. Let us tell you that Aadhar card is made only once. Even if it is lost, you will not need to apply again. You can get a new Aadhar card by visiting the website of UIDAI. Or you can again go to any Aadhaar center and get a new duplicate card made.
