Tata Vivo India deal stops because of Apple detail story

According to the report, Vivo India was trying to sell its 51 percent stake to Tata Group. This would have made it easier for the company to operate in India and also provide money for expansion. But this is not happening. In the report, the reason for this has been stated to be the manufacturing partnership between Tata and Apple.
Tata Group has acquired the Bangalore unit of Wistron India and Tata has become involved in iPhone manufacturing. If Tata Group buys stake in Vivo India, then it will have direct competition with Apple, which will affect both the companies.
A source close to the matter told Times of India that this was the main reason (Tata’s partnership with Apple) that foiled his plan. Any deal by Tata with Vivo would have been a partnership with a competitor. Perhaps this is why the talks between Tata and Vivo broke down. ‘At the moment’ there is very little chance of rethinking this.
In other news related to Vivo India, the company’s performance in India continues to be good. Counterpoint’s latest report states that Vivo is at second position in the country in the shipment of smartphones in the second quarter of 2024. Its shipment has been 18.8 percent, which was 17.4 percent during this period last year.
