TCS CEO Gets Rs 25.36 Crore, COO Salary Was Rs 26.18 Crore in Last Financial Year

K Krithivasan, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the country’s largest software company, received a package of more than Rs 25 crore last year. Krithivasan took charge of the company last year. He had replaced Rajesh Gopinathan.

The company’s annual report states that Krithivasan has received a salary of approximately Rs 1.27 crore, benefits and allowances of Rs 3.08 crore and a commission of Rs 21 crore. TCS Chief Operating Officer (COO), NG Subramaniam, was given a package of Rs 26.18 crore in the last financial year. Subramaniam is going to retire from the company soon. His package includes a salary of approximately Rs 1.72 crore, benefits and allowances worth approximately Rs 3.45 crore and Rs 21 crore as commission. The company said that the package of COO has increased by about 8.2 percent. Krithivasan’s package cannot be compared with them due to change in designation.

TCS has made work from office important by updating the policy related to variable pay. In this, four attendance slabs have been created to decide the variable pay of workers. Under the new policy, less than 60 percent office attendance in a quarter will not get any variable pay for that quarter. In TCS offices, workers with 60-75 percent attendance will get 50 percent of the variable pay, and those with 75-85 percent attendance will get 75 percent. Only those workers with more than 85 percent attendance in the office will be given full variable pay for that quarter. This policy warns that workers who continuously violate the rule of 85 percent work from office will have to face disciplinary action.

Recently, some workers in America accused TCS of discrimination in employment. These workers said that the company had terminated them by giving a short notice and after this, workers who had come from India on H-1B visa were placed on many vacant positions. According to a report in the Wall Street Journal, more than 20 workers have filed a complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). This American law enforcement agency declares discrimination in the workplace illegal.
