Tesla Rival byd Planning to Setup Rs 85,000 Crore Manufacturing Plant in India

Electric vehicles (EV) sales have increased in the last few years in the country. The interest of foreign EV manufactures in this market is also increasing. The US EV maker Tesla’s electric cars may start selling soon in India. However, initially Electric cars can be imported from Tesla’s German factory. Tesla’s Rival byd plans to set up a factory in the country. Electric cars of BYD are being sold in India.

One of The Philox Report According to, byd is planned to set up a factory near Hyderabad in Telangana. An investment of about Rs 85,000 crore can be done in this factory. It has been reported in this report that the capacity of the upcoming factory of BYD will be manufacturing six lakh vehicles annually in the next few years. The company’s battery manufacturing unit can have a capacity of 20 GWH. By setting up a factory in the country, byd will be able to reduce the price of its EV and increase the share in this market.

The Telangana government has introduced a new electric vehicle policy. In this, complete exemption in road tax and registration fees has been given on all types of EVs. Last month, Byd launched Sealion 7 Electric SUV in India. It will be available in two variants – Premium RWD and Performance AWD. Its price is between about Rs 48.90 lakh to Rs 54.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Recently booking for Sealion 7 was started for Rs 70,000. The design of this electric SUV is similar to the company’s ‘Ocean Series’. Its cabin is with black theme. Sealion 7 has a 15.6 -inch rotable infotainment system and a 10.25 inch digital instrument cluster. It has features such as crystal gear selector and driver monitoring system. The front bumper of this electric SUV provides air vents for cooling of battery pack.

Last year byd has set a record of sales. This Chinese company had sales of about 42.5 lakh units. Recently, the head of the company’s unit in the country, Rajeev Chauhan, the head of the business, said that the company is planned to start manufacturing when all the situations are in favor.
