The tension of booking hotel rooms is over for unmarried couples!
The tagline on the web homepage of Delhi-based startup ‘StayUncle’ reads, “Couples need room, not a judgment.” The effort of this startup is to change the mindset that does not recognize physical relations before marriage.
Founded in 2014 by Blaise Arizenov, Nandi Kumar Singh, and Sanchit Sethi, the startup started as a simple travel booking platform. However, in September 2015, I started doing business keeping in mind the needs of unmarried couples. On its website, hotels suitable for couples in Delhi-NCR and Mumbai have been listed.
If we go to any online forum, most of the unmarried couples complain that they face difficulty in renting a room in a hotel. If the couple is from the same city then most of the hotel owners return the couple without asking any questions. Well, this does not happen in four or five star hotels.
The FAQ on StayUncle’s website reads, “You can book a room in any city within the same city. This is not prohibited by law. There is no law in India preventing a couple from booking a hotel for an overnight stay.” Stops.
StayUncle’s Arizanov told Gadgets 360 that there are plans to connect Chennai, Kolkata and Bangalore in the next few months. And in the coming days, similar hotels of all Tier 1 cities will be listed on the website.
Users can book hotel rooms through the StayUncle platform. And you don’t even need to book for the whole day. Users can book a room for 10am to 7pm, or 9pm to 8am. The hotels listed on StayAnkle are 3-5 star rated. This start up claims that the level of security and hospitality in these hotels is constantly checked.
The company has publicly stated what things are taken into consideration before partnering with a hotel. Users can book the room online or using WhatsApp.
The company plans to launch the app soon. However, for this the company needs money.
