These Are the Key Differences Between the Two Phones, This is how OnePlus 5T is different from OnePlus 5

The price of the new OnePlus 5T is the same as the OnePlus 5 but some major changes have been made in the handset. The new OnePlus 5T sports a bezel-less display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and the new handset is the company’s first device not to have a 16:9 aspect ratio screen. The company says that dual camera setup is also provided in the new OnePlus 5T. We will tell you in this article what are the differences between the new OnePlus 5T and OnePlus 5? Which phone should you buy or wait for the upcoming upgrade variant?
OnePlus 5T vs OnePlus 5 Design
The biggest difference between these two smartphones is the display. OnePlus 5T has a new 18:9 aspect ratio screen and the home button that works as a fingerprint is also not provided. The company has placed the fingerprint sensor on the rear panel. However, if we compare OnePlus 5T and OnePlus 5, there is not much difference in terms of design.
Talking about dimensions, the dimensions of OnePlus 5T are 156.1x75x7.3 mm while the dimensions of OnePlus 5 are 154.2×74.1×7.25 mm, which shows that the new device is larger. Talking about weight, the OnePlus 5T weighs 162 grams while the OnePlus 5 weighs 153 grams. The company has launched OnePlus 5T only in Midnight Black color variant, whereas OnePlus 5 is also available in Midnight Black, Slate Gray and Soft Gold colors.
oneplus 5t vs oneplus 5 specifications
Talking about the specifications, we can say that almost all the specifications of OnePlus 5T are same as OnePlus 5 except the screen size and two rear cameras. The OnePlus 5T features a 6.01-inch FullHD+ (1080×1920 pixels) Full Optic AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. The pixel density of the screen is 401 PPI and 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection has been provided. At the same time, OnePlus 5 has a 5.5 inch Full HD (1080×1920 pixels) AMOLED display whose pixel density is 401 PPI.
Like the OnePlus, the OnePlus 5T is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 835 processor clocked at 2.45 GHz. The phone will have 6 GB or 8 GB LPDDR4X RAM options. The OnePlus 5T also has a 3300mAh battery like the OnePlus 5. And it supports the company’s Dash Charge fast charging technology.
OnePlus 5T vs OnePlus 5 Camera
At the launch event last week, OnePlus heavily promoted the dual camera setup of the new OnePlus 5T. The Chinese company has replaced the telephoto lens with a lens with a larger aperture.

The OnePlus 5T has a primary sensor which is similar to the OnePlus 5. It has a 16 megapixel IMX398 sensor with 1.12 micron pixels and aperture / F1.7. The secondary sensor in the phone is 20 megapixel IMX376K which has replaced the 20 megapixel Sony IMX350 sensor that comes with a telephoto lens. Unlike the OnePlus 5, the company is now focusing more on taking better photos in low light than portrait mode. OnePlus claimed that the new OnePlus 5T has ‘Intelligent Pixel Technology’ which allows more light to be captured when taking pictures in low light. The new 5T has a 16-megapixel Sony IMX371 sensor on the front. The same setup was given in OnePlus 5 also.
OnePlus 5T vs OnePlus 5 Software
The biggest disappointment for OnePlus fans is that the new OnePlus 5T comes with Android Nougat. The phone runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat based OxygenOS 4.7. The company has given a face unlock feature in OnePlus 5T like iPhone X. This feature was not provided in OnePlus 5. The company says that to use Face Unlock, the screen must be active and this feature will not work if you do things like making payment through a third-party app.
OnePlus 5 also runs on Nougat and currently it runs on OxygenOS 4.5.14 build. OnePlus has confirmed that the company will release Android 8.0 Oreo open beta for OnePlus 5 this month and OnePlus 5T users will get this update by December. The company listed early 2018 for the final Oreo OTA update for the OnePlus 5 and 5T without mentioning any date.
price
The 6 GB RAM and 64 GB storage variant of OnePlus 5T has been launched in India for Rs 32,999 and the 8 GB RAM / 128 GB storage variant will be available for Rs 37,999. This phone will be available in Midnight Black color variant. OnePlus 5T has been launched in the country at the same price as OnePlus 5. The new smartphone is an Amazon India exclusive but will also be made available through the OnePlus online store in India. In India, the sale of OnePlus 5T will start at 4.30 pm on November 21 for Amazon Prime members. Whereas the Regler sale for the handset will start in India from November 28.
