These smartphones disappointed in 2016

We analyze it every so often at the end of the year. What happened and what not? 2016 was a mixed year for smartphones. But some calls and incidents disappointed us a lot. Let’s take a look at those smartphones that failed to live up to expectations.

freedom 251

There is no harm in dreaming, but look for such that can be fulfilled. This thing fits perfectly on Ringing Bells’ Freedom 251 smartphone. By now you must have remembered the entire story of the Rs 251 smartphone. Handset for just Rs 251, there was nothing much bigger than this. But the atmosphere of curiosity cooled down as soon as possible. The situation started becoming clear. A phone worth Rs 251 was also launched in the market, many people booked for it, but how many got it? Will keep looking for the answer to this question. Now the situation is such that there have been reports of the CEO also resigning from the company.

samsung galaxy note7
After a great start to the year with the Galaxy S7 Edge, things suddenly took a turn for the worse for Samsung. And this time the reason was… Samsung Galaxy Note7. When the phone was launched, it received a lot of appreciation. But suddenly news of phones exploding while charging started coming. And gradually it took the form of an infectious disease. The situation worsened so much that the company finally stopped manufacturing this phone. And the phones which had been sold were recalled.

moto g series
There’s nothing wrong with cashing in on a hit formula. Motorola has also been doing this with the Moto G series. But in 2016, the company in a way spread this formula like raita. Not one or two, but three phones were launched in the Moto G series – Moto G4, Moto G4 Play and Moto G4 Plus. There is a difference of about Rs 2,000-3,000 in the price of all three variants. Even though the company’s strategy may have been to give an option to the customers at every price. But in a way it confused its customers. A few months later, the company launched Moto E3 Power for Rs 7,999, which means another option. Now look at how confusing this is from the customer’s perspective. The most interesting thing is that the owner of Motorola is Lenovo. And Lenovo is continuously offering smartphones in this price range in the Indian market. Sometimes it seems as if the company is fighting amongst itself more than others.

lg g5
LG cannot be accused of not experimenting with smartphone technology. But often there is something missing, due to which phones do not become popular. LG G5 is the company’s first modular phone. Many LG fans were eagerly waiting for this after the disappointment of LG G4. But LG’s same old shortcomings surprised everyone. We are talking about price. It was launched for Rs 52,990. Today you will get it for around Rs 36,000. When we reviewed the phone at the time of launch, we said, ‘The build quality could have been better. It has a metal body but it doesn’t feel like many other flagship smartphones.” It was an average phone in terms of design too. Apart from this, you will have to shell out more money to take full advantage of the modular function.

The year 2016 will also be remembered for the entry of Google brand in the smartphone market – Pixel and Pixel XL. It was claimed that these smartphones have the best camera ever. And Google Assistant was made public specifically for Pixel phones. But by the end of the year, this phone started becoming a part of headlines every other day for wrong reasons. When you buy a handset by spending more than 50 thousand rupees, then only one thing is in your mind that it should just keep working. But in the last one or two months, many shortcomings of Pixel have come to light, such as LTE connectivity, camera freezing at times, double tap gesture not working properly and for some people, this phone may freeze completely. Went. To be honest, if the complaints are not less then it will not be easy for this handset to make a dent in the popularity of iPhone.

Personally speaking, the biggest disappointment is the discontinuation of the Nexus brand. Because in the mid-range, it was a brand that gave a premium feel to the common user. But now Google’s eyes are straight on the flagship segment. In such a situation, we will now have to think about another option.
