TikTok to Compete YouTube Currently Testing 30 Minute Video Uploading feature

To compete with YouTube, ByteDance is offering the facility to upload 30-minute long videos on short-form video making app TikTok. The platform is moving away from its short-form video format. Social Media Consultant Matt Navara TikTok first spotted the new feature on iOS beta app and Android app in the UK. Let’s know about the upcoming feature of TikTok.

TikTok is popular for its short videos. The company started with a 15-second video and later the video limit was increased to 1 minute. Recently, seeing the demand, the limit was again revised to 3 minutes and later to 10 minutes. Let us tell you that before this the company is also testing for 15-minute videos, although it has not been released on the platform yet. Now the company is working on a 30-minute video limit.

New feature for TikTok users

TikTok is testing a 30-minute limit to attract more users and content creators to its platform. Thus, it is being seen as a direct competition to YouTube which offers the facility of video upload with no limit. With this expansion, full episodes of TV shows and any kind of long-form content can be posted on TikTok.

Being a popular platform for its short videos, TikTok will allow users to fast forward the video by tapping and holding on the right side of the video. A similar feature was seen when TikTok introduced 15-minute videos a few months ago. Apart from this, TikTok has already prepared for longer videos by recently introducing horizontal full-screen mode. Now it remains to be seen how much users like long videos on this platform which is already popular for short videos. At present, it is not known when this feature will be launched for users.
