TikTok’s rating improved again, Google helped in this way

TikTok’s ratings were improving just as fast as they were last week. Yes, TikTok app rating on Google Play has increased from 1.2 stars to 4.4 stars once again. Actually, there were many reasons for this change in the rating of TikTok, which started with Carry Minati’s roast video in which he roasted the TikTokers fiercely, after this, after the controversial video of Faisal Siddiqui came out, the spark against TikTok rose. It took the form of a fire and hashtags like #IndiansAgainstTikTok started trending on social media. Only after this, the rating of this app on Google Play Store started getting affected rapidly. But suddenly there has been an improvement in the ratings, which is behind Google. In fact, Google has removed millions of 1 star rated reviews on the Google Play Store in compliance with its posting guidelines, which clearly allow the removal of negative reviews.

Without specifying the TikTok issue, a Google spokesperson said the company takes steps to remove inappropriate ratings and comments in cases of spam abuse. The spokesperson said in a statement to Gadgets 360 that Play Store rating helps users provide feedback and their experiences related to apps and content. So that other users can take their decisions on that basis.

If we look at the current rating of TikTok app and the rating of 7 days ago, then a difference of about 80 lakh ratings can be seen. If you also look at the graph of the web version of Google Play, you will see that there was a huge jump in the 1 star rating a week ago. But now most of those ratings have been removed.

Google Play comment posting policy If we look at the guidelines, users are not allowed to change the rating of any app. This is why Google removed such NetGive review ratings in favor of TikTok.

However, on the other hand, not much change was seen in the rating of TikTok on Apple App Store for iOS in these 7 days. Last week, the average rating of this app on App Store was 3.5 stars, which came down to only 3.4 stars. Apple did not remove any rating of TikTok from the App Store, as it has increased from 11 lakh to 12 lakh since last week. It appears that iPhone users are not part of this war against TikTok.

There are many reasons for this war against TikTok-

The first reason is anti-China sentiment, which has increased since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic. At the same time, after Faizal Siddiqui’s video, the spark against TikTok took the form of fire. Faisal Siddiqui had made a TikTok video, in which he was seen throwing water on a girl. As soon as he threw water, the girl was seen in different make-up in the video, indicating scars from the acid attack. Only after this, people made it viral on social media and started demanding to ban TikTok app for promoting serious crime like acid attack. The third reason was Carry Minati’s video “YouTube vs TikTok – The End”, in which he especially roasted Aamir Siddiqui and other TikTokers. Carry Minati’s followers started giving 1-star rating to the TikTok app after this.
