Samsung Galaxy S8 colors, price in India and pre-booking
Samsung Galaxy S8 is priced at Rs 57,900 in India and will be available in Midnight Black and Maple Gold colors. Whereas Samsung Galaxy S8+ is priced at Rs 64,900 and comes in Midnight Black, Coral Blue and Maple Gold color variants. Customers pre-booking the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ will get a wireless charging accessory worth Rs 4,499. Pre-booking of Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 has started and these smartphones will be available from May 5.

1. Samsung Galaxy S8 Design
Samsung has ditched its signature home button for a bezel-less design in the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. Samsung believes that the absence of a home button will provide a better viewing experience on the Galaxy S8 series while also making multitasking more convenient. Additionally, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ come with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and rear and offer a premium finish.
The dimensions of Samsung Galaxy S8 are 148.9×68.1×8 mm and weight is 155 grams, which is slightly more than the previous Galaxy S7. The dimensions of Galaxy S7 are 142.4×69.6×7.9 mm and weight is 152 grams. At the same time, the dimensions of Galaxy S8+ are 159.5×73.4×8.1 mm and weight is 173 grams. The previous Galaxy S7 Edge measured 150.9×72.6×7.7 mm and weighed 157 grams.
2. Samsung’s new UX
Samsung’s latest Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ also debut the company’s brand new UX. Samsung says that the new UX given in Galaxy S8 has been developed to increase user interaction. The company displayed the app icons of the Galaxy S8 at the global launch of the smartphone.
Samsung has also updated its branded sound ‘Over the Horizon’ and introduced ringtones with a new UX. The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ will support all the standard features of the company’s Galaxy S series like Always-on-Display.
3. Samsung Galaxy S8 Performance
In the US, Samsung’s Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ have an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 825 processor. Whereas in India, these smartphones have been launched with Samsung’s Exynos 8895 processor (with octa-core processor). Samsung says the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ have ‘the industry’s first 10nm processor, which increases speed.’
Regarding both the new 10nm processors, it is claimed that due to the download speed up to 1 Gbps, they will come with Gigabit LTE and Gigabit Wi-Fi ready support. During availability in the US, the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ will be the first smartphones to reach customers with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor.
4. Samsung Galaxy S8 Infinity Display
Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ have Infinity Display. In comparison, the Galaxy S8’s display is 18 percent larger than the Galaxy S7’s display. Samsung says the Galaxy S8’s 18.5:9 display will be perfect for 21:9 movies in landscape mode. Apart from this, the display of Galaxy S8 is also claimed to have 36 percent more viewing area as compared to Galaxy S7.
Along with this, Samsung is also promoting the High Dynamic Range (HDR) premium capability of both the phones. Samsung Galaxy S8 has a 5.8-inch QuadHD+ (1440×2960 pixels) Super AMOLED display. Whereas, Samsung Galaxy S8+ has a 6.2 inch QuadHD+ (1440×2960 pixels) Super AMOLED display. The company has named it Infinity Display. The aspect ratio of the display is 18:9. We also saw a display with the same ratio in the LG G6. It has been claimed that with the help of the display, the user’s media entertainment enjoyment will be doubled as compared to before.
5. Dual Pixel Technology of Samsung Galaxy S8
The handset has 12 megapixel rear cameras equipped with dual pixel sensor technology. Their aperture is F/1.7. These will take good pictures even in low light conditions. An 8-megapixel sensor with F/1.7 aperture has been provided for selfie. The front cameras come with enhanced autofocus features and facial recognition technology.
The company has said that Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are equipped with advanced cameras. These will come with the technology of multi-frame image processing. With the help of this technology, instead of taking just one picture, the camera takes several pictures simultaneously and selects the best image and presents it to you. This image processing technology also ensures that images appear clear and diverse in all conditions.
Dual Pixel Sensor technology with wide aperture and autofocus delivers better low-light performance than the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. The camera UX is claimed to be optimized for one-handed use.
6. Virtual Assistant of Samsung Galaxy S8 – Bixby
Bixby is Samsung’s new intelligent interface. It has been told that with its help the user’s way of using Galaxy S8 will completely change. This interface reads the user’s habits and provides necessary information by assessing them. There are two ways to activate it – by pressing a hardware button on the phone or by saying Bixby.
With the help of this voice feature, users will be able to control multiple apps simultaneously. Bixby will let you control all the settings and features.
Its vision interface knows what the user is looking for. And based on that it helps in work like online shopping, translation of foreign languages. Bixby will keep reminding the user about important events through intelligent reminder feature. It will be possible to access all the features of Bixby through the home screen.
7. Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung DeX
The Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ come with an additional accessory, Samsung DeX. By connecting the mobile to the PC, the Galaxy S8 can be converted into a PC. It works like Microsoft’s Continuum feature. Samsung will port the DeX tool to the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+, providing an Android-based desktop experience. Samsung Galaxy S8 users will need to plug the handset into a DeX station, which will allow the handset to connect to an HDMI monitor as well as any Bluetooth, USB or RF-type keyboard and mouse.
Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ customers can purchase Samsung DeX by paying Rs 8,999.
8. Samsung Pay and My Galaxy App
The Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ come pre-installed with the Samsung Pay and My Galaxy apps. Where the company has recently launched Samsung Pay and users can make digital payments through Samsung phones. My Galaxy is an integrated one-stop shop application through which customers can search for entertainment or services like hotel, airline, rail booking and taxi booking.
