The most popular destination for online train tickets is IRCTC. The website of Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has been upgraded. Many new features have been added to it to improve the user experience. Currently, the option to use the new website has been given on the old website of IRCTC only. Probably beta testing of this website is still going on.

In the new website of IRCTC, not only the old features have been retained, but many new useful features have also been added. The waitlist prediction feature is very important in these. We have researched this website for the convenience of our readers and have found some useful features for you.

1. Now any person can search about trains on the new website of IRCTC. Can check about seat availability. To do this on the old website, login was required. But now all these tasks can be performed without logging in. Actually, the first interface of this website is Book Your Ticket. From here you will be able to check about the train and can also check PNR status.
2. Now on the IRCTC website, one can choose from the options like Book Ticket, Cancel Ticket, PNR Enquiry, Train Schedule and Track Your Train from the train category visible in the top menu bar.
3. Class, train, destination, departure/arrival time and quota based filters will now be visible on a single page on the IRCTC website. Here you can change things according to your need and preference. Now on one screen the user will get information like train name, train number, originating station, destination station, distance between them and travel time.
4. Waitlist prediction feature has been introduced for common users with the new website. With the help of this feature, users can check whether their waitlisted and RAC tickets are likely to be confirmed. If you are going to book a ticket and there is no seat available in the train, then you can click on CNF Probability to know what is the probability of the seat being confirmed. Actually, on this page you will also get the option of Confirm Availability on Alternate Trains and Confirm Availability on Alternate Class, which will provide you the facility to buy confirmed tickets.
5. Now options like My Profile, My Transaction and Link Your Aadhaar will be available in My Account tab. Under My Profile there are options to Update Your Profile, Change Password, Add/Modify List, Add/Delete Favorite Journey List and Preferred Bank. Whereas, in My Transaction, there are options like booked ticket history, TDR status and ticket cancellation history.
6. In the new system, users can do many things from the booked ticket history. Here you will get the option to cancel the ticket, SMS on mobile, printing of ticket, choosing another train through ‘Vikalp’ and changing the boarding station.
