Toyota Kirloskar Motor has announced that the company will increase the prices of select models from April 1, 2024. The company is set to increase prices by up to one percent on some variants of some cars. The reason behind the increase in prices is the increasing input costs and operating expenses. Toyota has increased the prices of cars for the second time this year, which happened in January 2024. Apart from this, Honda Cars India had announced a price increase which will be applicable across the lineup from next month. Although the price hike may be minimal, it is expected to impact the Toyota Fortuner, Hilux, Innova Hycross, Innova Crysta, Urban Cruiser Hybrid and Glanza.

In a statement, the automaker said, “Toyota Kirloskar Motor has today announced that the company plans to increase the prices of some grades of its cars, effective from April 1, 2024. The move, with an estimated 1 per cent increase, is being driven by rising input demand. Costs and operational costs are accounted for.”

Prices are likely to increase around the new financial year and hence it is expected that more automakers will increase the prices of their vehicles in the coming weeks. Toyota is also preparing to launch its new car based on Maruti Suzuki Fronx on April 3. The model may be named Toyota Urban Cruiser Taser upon launch and this will be the reason for the price hike. The automaker will also be offering a new GX (O) variant for the Innova Hycross petrol, which has been listed on the brand website.
