NASA has shared the latest pictures of Mars, looking at which it seems that there might have once been a lake of water here. That means there must have been water on Mars. Curiosity Rover has found new evidence of this. The agency has expressed the possibility that these could be traces of an ancient lake. These marks were found in a special area of ​​Mars which is known as Sulphate Bearing Unit. Earlier, researchers were assuming that the rocks formed here were shrinking. Because wave shaped marks were found on them. But now scientists say that this is a sign of some ancient source of water.

Ashwin Vasadava, a scientist at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in California, who is associated with the Curiosity project, said in a statement that this is the best evidence of water and waves seen so far during the mission. He said that he had climbed several feet into this lake but till now no such evidence had been found.

NASA says that millions of years ago, the waves of this shallow lake would have made these marks in its bottom which would have been left behind on the rocks over time. These marks have been found here under a rock called Mount Sharp. Curiosity Rover also tried to collect some samples here but, according to the agency, it was very difficult for the drill installed in the rover to break these rocks. Therefore he could not collect them.
