Truecaller Web Interface Launched Can Now Show Unknown Number SMS Messaging Support All Details

Truecaller for Web was introduced by the company on Wednesday for Android users. With this, Android users will now be able to use some of the features of Truecaller through the web as well. Users can now log in to the web interface and check unknown numbers, or send messages to contacts via SMS or Truecaller Chat. Once loaded, the Truecaller for Web interface will also show messages that are automatically categorized. It currently works with Android smartphones and there is no information from the company about when or if iPhone support will come.

While the Swedish company previously allowed users to check unknown numbers on its website after signing in, the newly announced Truecaller for web interface is designed to bring more features from the Android app to the browser. After linking the web client to Truecaller on a smartphone, users can check unknown numbers by typing or pasting them in the search bar, even if their phone is not nearby.

Alerts for incoming calls will now appear on the computer that’s connected to TrueCaller on an Android phone. Other services like Microsoft’s Phone Link app allow you to see incoming notifications (including phone calls) even when your phone isn’t nearby.

Users will be able to use their PC (or laptop) keyboard to reply to SMS and Truecaller chat messages on their computer, which will be divided into three categories – Inbox, Promotions and Spam. According to the company, outgoing messages can also be marked as important from the web interface. The web interface will also allow users to attach files as large as 100 MB.

To access Truecaller for web, users need to install Truecaller on Android smartphones and a web browser like Firefox, Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge on Windows or MacOS. Navigating to the Messages tab and tapping the three-dot menu > Messaging for Web > Link a device will allow users to use the QR code displayed on the website to log in to Truecaller for web. This feature is only supported on Android smartphones.
