TVS Motor preparing to Expand its Electric Scooter Sales in International Market, Range, Battery, Speed, Prices

Sales of electric scooters from TVS Motor, one of the largest two-wheeler companies, can soon be started abroad. The company’s Indonesia factory can be used for exports to the markets of Southeast Asia. It sells iQube electric scooter in foreign markets.

The company hopes that this will make the country a hub for the export of electric two-wheelers. It sells iQube and X electric scooters in the country. A media report stated that TVS Motor aims to use its Indonesia factory to increase market share in ASEAN countries. iQube electric scooter is already being sold in these countries. Company Director, KN Radhakrishnan said, “We expect the country to emerge as a major export hub for electric two-wheelers. With continued investment in the EV supply chain and infrastructure, we are confident of the company’s growth in this segment.” “The position will remain strong.” ASEAN countries include Cambodia, Laos, Brunei, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam.

TVS Motor may soon start exporting electric scooters to other countries also. Recently TVS Motor had introduced a new variant of iQube. It has a 2.2 kW battery. Its starting price is Rs 94,999 (ex-showroom). It can be charged from 0-80 percent in about two hours. Sales of electric two-wheelers have increased rapidly in the last few years.

The top speed of the new TVS iQube is around 75 kmph. It has a five inch color TFT screen. Features like vehicle crash and tow alerts and turn-by-turn navigation have been provided in this electric scooter. It competes with electric scooters like Ola S1 Pro and Hero Vida V1. The 2.2 kW battery variant of TVS iQube is available in Pearl White and Walnut Brown colors. The company’s iQube ST has been made available in two variants of 3.4 kW and 5.1 kW batteries. Their prices are Rs 1.55 lakh and Rs 1.83 lakh respectively. The 3.4 kW variant of the iQube ST has a range of around 100 kilometers on a single charge. It can be charged from 0-80 percent in about three hours.
