Uber Driver Sends Inappropriate Messages To Delhi Woman Banned Permanently Social Media Reacts
Tanya Sharma, a Delhi-based lawyer, shared her bad experience with Uber with everyone. to share Took help from LinkedIn. She alleged that an Uber cab driver started sending her lewd messages soon after booking a ride. In his post, he shared a screenshot of the chat as proof, in which the driver had written, “Come quickly Babu Yaar. I feel like it.” He raised questions as to how such incidents could happen in one of the prosperous areas of Delhi.
In her post Ms Sharma wrote, “We live in the 21st century and on a daily basis things are still so pathetic and painful for people that in one of the most posh areas of the city, even an auto driver in broad daylight “Might bother you.” Explaining the incident in detail in the same post, she wrote, “So, I booked it with Uber and after 5 minutes I started getting these annoying messages, after which I canceled the booking and filed a complaint against this person “
He also criticized Uber’s actions, as he says Uber takes a long time to resolve complaints. He wrote in the post, “The grievance redressal process for Uber India is to send a sympathetic message and forget, is this how it works?”
After canceling the booking and filing the complaint, Ms Sharma shared an update on Uber’s response. Initially, Uber responded that they would investigate and take action within 24-48 hours. However, he criticized the delay, questioning Uber’s commitment to ensuring the safety of women. She wrote, “What if the same thing happened to other women during these so-called 48 hours of your policy? Are you guys ready to take responsibility for my safety and the safety of those women?”
After the post received widespread engagement, Uber took immediate action and permanently banned the driver from its platform. In a subsequent post, Ms Sharma thanked everyone for their support and revealed that Uber had indeed taken action against the driver.
