Uber Shuttle Bus Service Launched in Delhi NCR Now Pre Book Seat All Details
According to news agency ANI (via mint), Uber is now all set to operate shuttle bus service for regular passengers in Delhi-NCR after being granted aggregator license under the Delhi Premium Bus Scheme by the Delhi Transport Department. The bus service will be launched under the Uber Shuttle program and passengers can book seats on their daily routes by selecting the Uber Shuttle option on the Uber app. pre-book will be able to do.
The agency’s report states that on this occasion, an official of the Delhi Transport Department said, “The Delhi government is committed to improving the public transport service and diversifying the transport options available to streamline the commute for Delhiites.”
Speaking on the occasion, Amit Deshpande, Head of Uber Shuttle, India, said, “After a successful pilot program where we saw significant demand for buses, we are thrilled to officially launch Uber Rides on buses in Delhi.”
As we mentioned above, the first trial of Uber shuttle bus service in Delhi NCR was done in Kolkata and it is being operated in Kolkata since last year with an MoU with the Government of West Bengal.
Let us tell you that Uber has got this license under the app-based premium bus aggregator scheme of Delhi government. The Delhi government’s app-based premium bus aggregator scheme was launched in November last year. Under this scheme, the government wants to provide such public transport for the upper middle class people which provides maximum convenience to the people. This means that like cabs, people can travel in buses as easily by making their bookings. This will save people’s time and also reduce the burden on vehicles on the roads by booking a ride in a bus instead of booking a personal cab.
