UIDAI warned

According to the current rules of the Aadhaar Act 2016, children are required to get mandatory biometric updates (MBU) after the age of 5 years. The MBU process involves updating their fingerprints, iris scans and facial photos, as these things may be accurately captured at this age. However, UIDAI has found that many parents have not completed this necessary process. Therefore, UIDAI has now warned parents that if they do not update biometrics then their children’s Aadhaar card will be deactivated.

UIDAI said that it is very important for MBU to complete time to maintain the accuracy of children’s biometric data. If MBU is not completed even after the age of 7 years, the Aadhaar number can be deactivated according to the current rules.

Update for Aadhaar biometrics free

UIDAI is sending SMS on the mobile numbers registered with the Aadhaar of children whose biometrics have not been updated. In SMS, UIDAI is asking parents to complete the required MBU process.

UIDAI said that according to the current rules, it is necessary to update fingerprints, iris scans and photos in the base of the child on completion of 5 years. This is called the first compulsory biometric update (MBU). If the child gets MBU (MBU) between 5 and 7 years of age, then it is free. But after the age of 7, it is charged only 100 rupees.
