UPI Rules changing from april 1 inactive mobile numbers will lose access more details

NPCI has issued new instructions to increase the security and efficiency of UPI transactions, which will be applicable from 1 April 2025. Under these guidelines, bank and payment service providers (PSP) will have to update their data every week through the Mobile Number Revolution List (MNRL) and Digital Intelligence Platform (DIP). UPI will not work on old mobile number

According to the new rules, if a mobile number is not used for 90 days, it can be re-assigned by the telecom operator. Now such old and passive mobile numbers linked to UPI will be deactivated. If your link number has been closed or changed to your bank, then your UPI ID may be unlink and you will not be able to use UPI services.

What is necessary for UPI users?

  • Update your mobile number in the bank so that your UPI services remain on.
  • If the number has changed recently, register a new number in the bank as soon as possible.
  • Keep using bank-registard numbers so that it is not inactive and UPI services are not affected.

“Collect Payment” feature will be finished in UPI

Recently, NPCI also started the process of removing the “Collect Payment” feature to reduce fraud. Now this feature will be limited only to large and verified traders, while the limit of “Collect request” in personal transactions will be increased to Rs 2,000.

These changes are being made to make UPI more safe and fraud-free. If you use UPI, then update your bank-registard mobile number as soon as possible, so that there is no problem in your transaction.
