Vivo Starts Sale of V40 in India, ZEISS tuned Camera System, Oppo, Samsung, Xiaomi

The price of 8GB + 128 GB variant of this smartphone is Rs 34,999, 8 GB + 256 GB variant is Rs 36,999 and 12 GB + 512 GB variant is Rs 41,999. It can be purchased in blue, purple and titanium gray colors. It will be sold on e-commerce site Flipkart, company’s e-store and select retail stores. 10 percent cashback is being offered on purchasing this smartphone. There is also an option of exchange bonus for the customers.
Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 has been given as processor in V40. It has a 5,500 mAh battery. This smartphone has a 1.5K AMOLED display. Its camera system comes with features like cinematic portrait video and festival portrait mode. In this, the performance of the camera is improved with Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools like AI Eraser, AI Photo Enhancer, and AI Superlink.
Smartphone shipments in the first half of the current year increased by 7.2 percent on year-on-year basis to about 69 million units. Smartphone shipments in the second quarter grew by about 3.2 percent to about 35 million units. According to the report of market research firm International Data Corporation (IDC), many new smartphones have been launched in the second quarter. Most of these were in the mid-premium and premium segments. Shipments in the budget segment (priced around Rs 8,400 to Rs 16,800) of smartphones have grown nearly 8 percent year-on-year. Xiaomi is at the forefront in this segment also. After this there are Realme and Vivo. The entry-premium segment (priced around Rs 16,800 to Rs 33,500) has seen the highest increase of 42 percent. In this, Chinese smartphone maker Oppo is at the forefront. After this there are Vivo and Samsung. Shipments in the super-premium segment (priced above Rs 67,100) have grown by about 22 percent on a year-on-year basis. In this, Apple is at the forefront with 83 percent share.
