It is speculated that Vivo’s upcoming handset lineup will include two models – V40 and V40 Pro smartphones. Of these, the vanilla model has been launched in the European market only last month. Vivo V40 Pro was reportedly recently spotted on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website, hinting at its imminent launch in India.

It is being said that both models are IP68 rated for dust and water protection. Apart from this, 3D curved display and Infinity Eye camera module can be found in Vivo’s upcoming handset. It may include Zeiss optics cameras with multifocal portrait support.

The report further suggests that both the handsets may have cushioning structures for better stability. Vivo V40 is expected to have similar specifications as its European version.

Vivo V40 has been launched in the global market with a 6.78 inch curved AMOLED screen. It has 2,800 x 1,260 pixel resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and 4,500 nits peak brightness support. It is powered by Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC, paired with Adreno 720 GPU, up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM, and up to 512GB of UFS 2.2 onboard storage. The phone comes with Android 14-based FuntouchOS 14.

Vivo V40 comes with a dual rear camera unit equipped with Ziess optics, which includes a 50-megapixel primary rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) support and a secondary 50-megapixel camera with an ultra-wide angle lens. The rear camera system comes with an Aura Light unit. The phone has a front facing 50 megapixel camera for selfie.

The Vivo V40 packs a 5,500mAh battery that supports 80W wired FlashCharge. It has an IP68-rated build for dust and water protection. Its size is 164.16 x 74.93 x 7.58 mm and weight is 190 grams.
