Be careful if you vlog or record videos while driving a car. Kerala High Court has given a major decision against car vlogging. The High Court has issued instructions to the Motor Vehicle Department of Kerala that if anyone is found vlogging inside the driver’s cabin of the vehicle, then a challan should be imposed on him, or a heavy fine should be levied. Also, if a person is found vlogging on the seat adjacent to the driver’s cabin, then in such a case also it has been said that a fine will be imposed on the driver.

In the era of social media, everyone has become fond of making reels and vlogs. But Kerala High Court has shown strictness on this trend. LiveLaw’s Report According to the High Court’s decision, it has been said that if the driver is found recording or vlogging in the cabin, he will be fined heavily or a challan will be issued. Apart from this, the High Court has issued an order to the Vehicle Department to collect challan for heavily modified cars.

The court said that modifications like unauthorized lights and aftermarket exhaust systems are illegal and such vehicles violate the safety standards of AIS 008. Besides this, pollution also increases. Along with illegal modifications on cars, fines will also be imposed if unauthorized LED lights are found on buses.

The court says that video recording or vlogging in the drive cabin of moving vehicles, stage carriages, heavy goods vehicles, or other vehicles is dangerous. This distracts the driver’s attention and can lead to a major accident. The decision states that if any other person is found doing vlogging along with the car driver, then legal action will be taken against the driver. The Motor Vehicle Department can take action for this under Section 190 (2) of the Motor Vehicles Act. Under which the license can also be cancelled.

The court has asked the enforcement department to scan videos from YouTube to identify vehicles on which excessive modification has been done. Besides, instructions have also been issued to take action against such vehicles.
