Vodafone Idea Reportedly Plans to Partnership With Elon Musk Starlink

The Indian telecom company Vodafone Idea is interacting with several satellite communication providers including Allen Musk’s Starlink to expand its internet service. The company gave this information on Wednesday. In an exchange filing released on March 19, Vodafone Idea said that she continues to work with several companies to improve its service quality and expand her telecom service.

Vodafone Idea Chief Technology Officer Jagbir Singh confirmed that the company was talking to Starlink. He said that “We are talking not only with Starlink but also with two or three other companies. We will see what is the final decision on the basis of our strategy.” He further said that the company is currently talking to find out who will be its right partner for further expansion.

Last week, telecom operators Airtel and Reliance Jio announced a partnership with Spacex owned by US Tech billionaire Alan Musk. The Starlink SATCOM company Spacex offers more than 7000 low meaning orbit (LEO) in more than 100 countries through a group of satellite. On March 19, the company’s shares saw growth, which rose nearly 5 percent to close at Rs 7.45 per share. After the report, the Vodafone Idea clarified after the report sought cleaning from the company and its impact on the growth in the share price. The company also said that the announcement of its 5G service rollout in Mumbai could also affect the share price. It announced in an exchange filing that its 5G service would be available in the city from today, which reflects investment in its spectrum holding and next generation infrastructure.
