Both phones have 1440×2560 pixels resolution and 534 ppi screen density. While the iPhone 7 Plus has a 5.5-inch screen, its resolution is 1080×1920 pixels and the density is 401 ppi. Although, it would not be right to compare 5.5 inch, 5 inch and 4.7 inch smartphones, but Galaxy S7 Edge wins with the highest pixel density.

processor
Google Pixel XL has the fastest Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor. Samsung’s Exynos 8890 octa-core processor has been given in the Galaxy S7 Edge launched in India. The Pixel XL has an Adreno 530 GPU for graphics while the Galaxy S7 Edge has a Mali-T880 MP12 GPU. Both smartphones have 4 GB RAM. Talking about iPhone 7, it has Apple’s A10 processor with 2 GB RAM. iPhone 7 Plus has 3 GB RAM. All three smartphones are capable of multitasking and playing games. But we will reserve our judgment until we review the iPhone 7 and Pixel smartphones.
storage
As mentioned earlier, Samsung has currently launched only the 32 GB variant of Galaxy S7 Edge in India. Whereas 32 GB and 128 GB variants of Google Pixel and Pixel XL have been launched. Whereas iPhone 7 will be available in 32 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB variants in India. However, Google has gone a step further and offered unlimited cloud storage to customers purchasing Pixel and Pixel XL to store photos and videos. MicroSD card support is not available in any of these smartphones. In this respect all three phones are equal. According to the price, Galaxy S7 has the most storage, but some people may be disappointed due to the non-launch of a variant larger than 32 GB storage in India.

camera
Google has described its camera as ‘the best in the market’ and said that the phone scored the highest score of 89 in DXOMark. The camera analysis website has described Pixel smartphone as better than iPhone 7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. Google Pixel has a 12.3-megapixel camera with aperture F/2.0, OIS and dual-tone LED flash. With this, a picture of 1.55 micron pixel size can be taken. Apart from this, there is also HDR + mode. The phone has an 8 megapixel front camera for taking selfies.
The Galaxy S7 Edge has a 12-megapixel rear camera with aperture F/1.7, OIS, and LED flash. With this, a picture of 1.4 micron pixel size can be captured and auto-HDR mode is also provided in this phone. Talking about selfie, Samsung has given 5 megapixel front camera with screen flash for good selfie in low light in Galaxy S7 Edge.
iPhone 7 has a 12-megapixel rear sensor with aperture F/2.2, OIS and dual-tone LED flash. The iPhone 7 also has HDR mode and a 7-megapixel front camera with screen flash for taking selfies. In iPhone 7 Plus, one camera has a 28 mm wide angle lens with aperture F/1.8 and the other has a 56 mm telephoto lens with aperture F/2.8. Optical zoom can be done up to 10 times with the second lens and for this there is no need to compromise on the quality of the pictures. But we will reach our final conclusions only once we review the iPhone 7 and Google Pixel XL.
Battery
When it comes to battery size, Apple is sure to lag behind. Battery life can be debated though. The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus have 1960 mAh and 2900 mAh batteries respectively. Google Pixel and Pixel XL have 2770 mAh and 3450 mAh batteries respectively. Whereas Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge has 3600 mAh battery. The batteries provided in all these smartphones are non-removable. And only Android based smartphones support fast charging. We will reserve our judgment for now as we have not yet tested the battery of iPhone 7 and Google Pixel.
operating system
Perhaps this is the biggest reason why a customer prefers an iPhone over an Android smartphone. While iPhone 7 runs on the latest iOS 10, Google Pixel runs on Android 7.0 Nougat. Both the operating systems have many unique features and offers and have their own fans all over the world. While both these phones are equipped with the latest software, the Galaxy S7 Edge runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow (with TouchWiz UI on top). The iPhone 7 and Google Pixel are the smartphone operating system winners, beating the Galaxy S7.
Exclusive Feature
These three smartphones also have some exclusive features which make them different from each other. Google Pixel comes in really blue color variant, earlier there were reports of iPhone 7 also coming in blue color but it did not happen. Apart from this, Google Pixel is the first phone which has live 24×7 customer care support with built-in Google Assistant and integrated screen. As mentioned earlier, with this phone the user gets unlimited cloud storage which is not available with Apple and Samsung. Apple charges money for a certain amount of cloud storage.
Voice based virtual assistant Siri is provided in iPhone 7. Siri was developed long before Google Assistant. All the work that Google Assistant can do can be done with Siri. Apart from this, due to the iOS platform, there are other apps including exclusive services like FaceTime and iMessage. Although headphone jack is not provided in iPhone 7, Apple has tried to compensate for this by providing headphones with the phone.
The Galaxy S7 Edge is the only phone that comes with a dual edge display. Due to S7 Edge, Samsung has gained a lot and it has proved to be a successful phone in the market. There are a number of useful tweaks to Android software thanks to the TouchWiz UI. These include Smart Share and many other features of Samsung.
Result
Companies like HTC and LG have made strong bets in the market with high prices and flagship specifications many times but could not compete with Samsung and Apple. Apple and Samsung dominate the premium smartphone segment. But now with the entry of Google the change is natural. Despite the high price, Google Pixel and Pixel XL have all the things that can make Apple and Samsung face good competition. We will reserve our decision as to which of these three phones is better until we review the new phones from Apple and Google. Stay with us.
