Apple has made a major upgrade in the camera of iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. The larger variant will come with dual camera setup. Important upgrades have also been made in the sensor.

Now users can keep iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in 1 meter of water for 30 minutes, which means the possibilities of photography further increase. Let us try to find out what is special in the camera of iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
1) Optical Image Stabilization

2) lens
The iPhone 7 smartphone comes with a 12-megapixel rear sensor which has a 28 mm wide-angle lens. On the other hand, dual camera setup has been given in iPhone 7 Plus. This is the first time this type of experiment has been used in an Apple product. Both its cameras are of 12 megapixels. One has a 28 mm wide-angle lens and the other has a 56 mm lens. The company has named it as telephoto lens which is equipped with 2x real optical zoom and the total zoom is 10x.
A third party analyst said that the sensor of iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus is the same size. However, the telephoto lens is smaller than the wide angle lens.
3) aperture
The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus have a six-element lens with an F/1.8 aperture, whereas the previous generation devices had a lens with an F/2.2 aperture. Apple has claimed that this new lens captures 50 percent more light than the lens of the old handset. This feature will prove to be very effective in low light. You can expect crisper images thanks to the six element lens.
4) Quad-LED True Tone Flash
For the first time, quad-LED True Tone flash has been used in a smartphone. Apple has provided more LEDs to improve night photography. These LEDs will give the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus the option of higher brightness and better tone matching.
Apple has claimed that the quad-LED True Tone flash provides 50 percent more light and also reaches 50 percent more distance. It also comes with a unique flicker sensor that works to improve photos and videos by reducing the flickering of artificial light.
5) New Image Signal Processor
Apple has introduced a new image signal processor for powerful image processing in both the smartphones. Apple says that the new processor is 60 percent faster than the previous variant. This will be possible by improving ISP.
This tech company says that this ISP performs 100 billion operations in just 25 milliseconds while taking photos.
6) FaceTime HD Camera
iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus have 7 megapixel front cameras. Remember that 5 megapixel FaceTime HD camera was provided in iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus. With these cameras you will be able to record videos of 1080 pixels, whereas the previous generation devices were capable of recording videos of 720 pixels. However, the aperture of these sensors is still F/2.2.
7) RAW DNG file support
Keeping professional users in mind, Apple has given these cameras the ability to capture RAW DNG files. For those unaware of this feature, let us tell you that RAW is a file format. Whenever you take a photo, all the image data recorded by the sensor is captured in this format. Photos in JPEG format come with compressed image information. Better quality photos are available in RAW format. However, RAW DNG files take up more space than JPEG photos. Apple will provide RAW support through third party applications.
