What’s new and better

Samsung on Thursday launched new versions of its Galaxy A series smartphones Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 in India. Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016) And Samsung Galaxy A7 (2016) In many respects it is better than its older variants. Both the smartphones have metal build and will come with dual-SIM option. The Galaxy A7 (2016) is more powerful than the Galaxy A5 (2016). Remember that last month Samsung launched both these handsets. Galaxy A3 (2016) Was also launched in China. It has not been launched in India currently.

If compared on paper, the new smartphones are equipped with bigger displays, better resolution, powerful processors, more RAM, better cameras and bigger batteries. Let us know in which respects the Galaxy A5 (2016) and Galaxy A7 (2016) are better than their older versions.

1. Display
Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016) will come with a 4.7-inch display. Remember that a 4.5-inch screen was used in the Galaxy A5. There are no changes in the Galaxy A7 (2016) in this regard. Like its older version, this handset will also be equipped with a 5.5 inch display.

2. Screen resolution
The Galaxy A5 comes with an HD (720×1280 pixels) resolution while the Galaxy A5 (2016) uses a full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) resolution display. Once again, no changes have been seen in the Galaxy A7 (2016). The older version of this handset also comes with a full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) resolution display.

3. RAM
The Galaxy A7 (2016) has 3 GB RAM compared to the 2 GB RAM of the Galaxy A7. Whereas, Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A5 (2016) come with 2 GB RAM.

4. High resolution camera and OIS
The biggest feature of the camera of the new Galaxy A series smartphones is optical image stabilization. The Galaxy A5 (2016) and Galaxy A7 (2016) are equipped with this feature. Both the smartphones have 13 megapixel rear and 5 megapixel front cameras.

5. Android version
All smartphones in the Galaxy A (2016) range will run on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. Older generation handsets came with Android 4.4 KitKat. Samsung has not yet told when these handsets will get the update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

6. Storage
Like the Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7, the latest versions also come with 16 GB of inbuilt storage. However, now microSD cards up to 128 GB can be used with these handsets. Earlier support was given only for cards up to 64 GB.

7. Battery
The Galaxy A5 (2016) is equipped with a 2900 mAh battery, compared to the 2300 mAh battery used in the Galaxy A5. Whereas, Galaxy A7 (2016) has a 3300 mAh battery whereas the older version comes with a 2600 mAh battery.

Looking at these upgrades, it is clear that Samsung has tried to present a better product to the users compared to the older version. But the user will also have to bear the loss. Because they will have to pay more money to buy these handsets.
