WhatsApp New Feature Block Spam Calls Messages Numbers From Lock Screen Directly

In view of the rapidly increasing number of scams in the country, WhatsApp is now adding new safety features to the platform. The latest feature improves the existing feature of blocking a contact. Users can now instantly block a contact from the lock screen of their smartphone without opening the WhatsApp message. Let us tell you that earlier this was not possible, because then users had to open an unknown message and then follow some other steps to block the contact.

WhatsApp now seems to be more serious about phishing attacks than ever before. The Meta-owned instant messaging platform has tried to educate its users about identifying phishing attacks by checking aspects such as spelling, grammatical mistakes in an unknown WhatsApp message. Apart from this, the existing block feature has been improved and added to the lock screen of the smartphone, making it easier to access.

Now WhatsApp users can block messages from unknown numbers directly from the lock screen without opening them. Apart from this, unknown calls can also be blocked from the lock screen itself. This means that the user will not need to go into the app for this.

This is a good step considering the increasing scams, because it is often seen that users of messaging apps like WhatsApp are often disturbed by spam messages or calls and some messages also contain such links that enable attackers to get complete access to the smartphone with just one click.

From now on, whenever users see a spam message notification on the lock screen, the user will have to long press on that notification, which will show several options. One of these options will be block. After blocking, the messaging app will also show another prompt, asking to report the blocked sender.

On the other hand, if you want to block a contact, then follow these steps – Settings > Privacy > Blocked contacts > Add. Here, search or select the contact you want to block.
