WhatsApp New Feature on Android In App Dialer for Calling Testing Rollout Expected Soon Heres All Details

WhatsApp is working on many new features for the Android platform. In recent times, the company has added new features one after the other on the platform and now if a latest report is considered true, then the Meta-owned instant messaging platform may soon bring a new feature related to calling. A new dialer button has been spotted on the Call tab on the beta version of WhatsApp for Android. It is speculated that this feature will make WhatsApp calling more convenient, allowing users to call directly from the app without switching to the system dialer and saving contacts on Android smartphones.

With this, users can take advantage of WhatsApp calling and even on numbers that are not saved on the smartphone. It is being said that this feature has been seen in WhatsApp’s Android beta app version 2.24.13.17.

In addition to calling, users may be able to save contacts from the dialer to the smartphone’s address book, either as a new contact or as an update to an existing contact. Additionally, a messaging option is also said to be present for those who initially wanted to call someone but changed their mind and now want to send them a WhatsApp message.

It is speculated that it will also provide the functionality to check whether a given number is registered on WhatsApp or not. The feature tracker suggested that the new in-app dialer is available to select users who are registered in the Google Play beta program as beta testers of the WhatsApp for Android app. However, on some of our team’s devices, which are on the latest beta version, this feature was not visible at the time of writing.

According to another report, WhatsApp has also reportedly introduced new and more dynamic stickers. It is being said that these stickers show smoother motion due to the newly supported Lottie framework. This reportedly enables the development of more dynamic animations built on motion graphic design software like Adobe After Effects for native rendering on mobile devices.
