WhatsApp to Get New Favorites Tab to Add Contacts to Speed ​​Dial for Android

WhatsApp is working on a new feature that will allow users to add, re-order and remove contacts in a specific order. The Favorites feature was spotted in a new beta version of WhatsApp for Android. It is expected to allow users to set speed dials to contacts for easy access. The feature is currently not visible so beta testers won’t be able to use it, but it is expected to be available in an upcoming update.

Based on the screenshots shared by the publication, the new Settings option was located between the Account and Privacy options. A new option for Favorites is now visible along with Add, Re-order, and Remove details. Upon opening Settings, a new screen reveals that WhatsApp has been made to search for those people and groups. While not much has been revealed about the feature, it looks like users will be able to add their favorite contacts to create a speed-dial-like interface where they can send messages to those people instantly.

However, this feature depends on the user’s choice so it may be unnecessary for many users. Based on the screenshots, this feature is hidden under two different screens (Home screen > Settings > Favorites), which will make it difficult to use. The current interface of the instant messaging app automatically puts the chats where messages were shared recently on top.
