WhatsApp to Get Search by Username Feature on Update Report Says

According to WhatsApp feature tracker WABetaInfo, the messaging app is designing a username feature that will allow WhatsApp users to search for other people on the app by searching their username. Similar to the username search feature on Telegram, this new WhatsApp update can also allow users to chat with strangers without sharing their phone number.
In the report of WABetaInfo Said It has been reported that this feature will roll out on WhatsApp version 2.23.25.19 update via Google Play Beta program. It also includes a screenshot of the app, where a search bar can be seen that allows users to search by name, username, or number. This feature will make communication on WhatsApp more private as users will not need to share their number to start a new chat on the app. Users can also choose to set a unique username, change it, or remove it completely.
Users will get the feature to search by username as an upcoming update. No other information about this feature or its release is currently available. Last month, it was reported that WhatsApp was working on channel usernames, which would allow channel subscribers to enter a username to open a channel. In October, the app was also spotted working on a new username picker on WhatsApp beta for iOS 2.23.20.71. According to the report, setting a unique username, which would be with alphabets, numbers, and some special characters.
