WhatsApp Upcoming Feature Post HD Videos Photos in Status Soon Heres All Details

WhatsApp introduced support for HD (high definition) photos and videos in August this year. Now, the Meta-owned instant messaging platform is improving this feature. WhatsApp is reportedly testing a new feature that will allow users to share HD photos and videos in their status updates. The upcoming feature has been spotted in WhatsApp beta version 2.23.26.3 on Android, which is available to use through the Google Play Beta program.

A new report from WhatsApp features tracker WABetaInfo Report claims that WhatsApp will soon allow people to upload high-quality photos and videos to status. Currently, the messaging platform compresses photos and videos uploaded by users in status updates. Competing services such as iMessage and Telegram, in contrast, allow photos and videos to be uploaded in HD.

The report also includes a preview of the HD Status feature. According to the screenshots, the feature can be accessed from the drawing editor. The messaging platform is reportedly rolling out WhatsApp beta 2.23.26.3 update for Android. However, the feature is not available to testers right now and is expected to be introduced in a future beta version of the app.

WhatsApp introduced the option to send photos and videos in HD quality in August this year. The feature allows sending videos in 720p resolution instead of the standard 480p resolution.

The Mark Zuckerberg-led company is also reportedly developing a new feature that will allow iPhone users to share their audio while sharing their screen during a video call. This will allow users to listen to video and music audio simultaneously when someone shares their screen in a video call.
