WhatsApp User Can Make Sticker Change Theme Colors Feature Testing on iOS Beta
As per the information revealed by feature tracker WABetaInfo Accordingthe instant messaging platform’s recent WhatsApp beta for iOS update included some code that revealed that users will soon be able to choose an accent colour to theme certain parts of the UI. These include the number of messages on the right side of the chat list, the circle around status updates, the colour of the selected tab at the bottom, and certain buttons on the interface.
These UI elements appear on the new stable version of WhatsApp on iOS with blue colour accents. A screenshot of 5 colour accents was shared by WABetaInfo, showing a choice between WhatsApp’s green accent, the existing blue option, an off-white colour, pink and purple. Users will reportedly be informed that selecting one of the 5 options will only update the main branding colour of the app.
According to WABetaInfo, a new version WhatsApp beta for iOS 24.1.10.72 with support for a new feature is being made available to testers through the TestFlight program. Beta testers can now test a new feature Sticker Editor which can completely eliminate the need for other sticker apps.
According to information shared by WABetaInfo, tapping an existing sticker will allow beta testers to edit it via the Edit Sticker button. Meanwhile, another button called Create Your Own will allow users to create their own stickers on the app. While creating stickers, users will also be able to remove the background from the photo on their smartphone.
According to the feature tracker, the new sticker editor is currently being rolled out to beta testers. The color accent picker may take some time to become available to testers. WhatsApp usually maintains similar features between both platforms. So these features are also expected to come to WhatsApp on Android in the future.
