META is allegedly working on a new feature for Whatsapp’s iOS app. The new feature will allow users to link their Instagram profile to their WhatsApp account. According to WABETAINFO, this feature was seen in Whatsapp beta for the iOS version 25.7.10.70. After the feature comes, users will have the option to display their Instagram profile link on their WhatsApp profile. Apart from this, the profile photos and names of the link users are expected to be seen below the name, who will increase visibility for those who want to connect their account on the platform owned by META. Allegedly, users will also be given the facility to control who can see their linked Instagram profiles.

WhatsApp is offering a variety of privacy settings, including Evevan, My Contact, My Contact Except and No Buddy. This makes it clear that users maintain completely control over their profile visibility and privacy. This feature will be completely optional, so that users will be able to decide whether they want to link their Instagram account or not.

Currently Instagram is the only social media platform that supports this feature. However, it is expected that WhatsApp can also support other platforms such as Facebook and Threads in future. This type of change can make integration between META’s social networking and messaging service even easier.
